Please help - 80s film about a Pagan Nanny Wolf Woman?

I need to know the name of an 80s film about a woman who gets a job as a nanny, looking after a baby, and she can turn into a white wolf. I have vague memories, but can't remember the title or the lead actress?

    Thanks for any help.

The Company Of Wolves? Angela Lansbury?

Else, I remember there was this obscure '86/'87 VHS called 'Freaky Fairy Tales' that had a 'werewolf' segment.

^It could possibly be "My Mom's A Werewolf", from the 80s bit of that website(?)

Whay do I get caught up in these types of threads?

Nope.. I have that classic. It's definitely a full film, so wouldn't be on Freaky Fairy Tales. Thanks for trying to unravel the mystery though.

It's not in that list. I actually found another list of 80s wolf films, and it wasn't on that too.

          I will describe it better.

I think the lead actress is English, possibly a blonde? ... It's set in America. A couple have a baby and need someone to mind it and take care of the house, so they employ a woman who seems perfect. The housekeeper turns out to be some sort of Pagan, who can turn into a wolf. A detective tracks her down and starts to watch her movements, but I think she kills him. There is also some kind of sacred tree in a forest, where she takes the baby near the end, for it to be sacrificed.

It wasn't a cheap film. No.. it was quite well made, and on BBC, late at night for years.

I hope someone can identify it, because it's driving me crazy trying to remember

I remember this, but can't remember the title. I too saw it on BBC late at night. Will try and have a think while at work today.

It sounds like it's William Friedkin's The Guardian from 1990.

That's it. I thought it was an 80s film( 1990 is close ), and I completely forgot about the star, Jenny Seagrove.

Sadly.. it's an out of print dvd, with only one copy on U.S. Amazon for ?75. There isn't a Pal version.

Such a shame, because I would like to own it.

Jenny Seagrove used to Michael Winner's bit of stuff (bleurrrgh!) and he cast her in lots of trashy sex-scene filled guff.

One where she plays a prosi was pretty revolting.

I like her as the frog woman in Local Hero.

There is an active torrent of the film floating around if anyone is interested.

I looked around and found it. It may not be a great film, but I remember enjoying it, and if it's not on dvd... I will have to go down another avenue to watch it. I won't hold my breath for a Blu-ray release.

If you'd have said she turns into a TREE instead of a WOLF I might have got it.

Terrible film, very gory, utter turd!
