It is very centred around Lois Lane unfortunately and the actress isn't exactly the Lois of the old days (mega feisty but still likeable). Tis a shame it's all a bit soppy in places as the action parts are great to watch.

The trouble with Batman & Superman together is the nerfing required for Superman, it's largely the same with most of the JLA. He's so overpowered next to them that they're pretty useless.

Batman: "Lex's nerve gas is going to wipe out most of Gotham City, if we don't deactivate the remotes planted around the city area it will..."
      *woosh*
      Superman: "All done"

But both Kingdom Come and The Dark Knight Returns are awesome Batman/Superman stories. Done properly it would be epic on film.

Batman + preptime can beat anyone. It's almost a running joke.

He had a contingency plan that pretty much took out the whole of the justice league when it was put into action (by a bad guy).

Really though, he's just a bloke with some expensive toys. He's Bill Gates with muscles. His superpower is being born rich. They have made it work in some great stories (like DKR and Kingdom Come) but, ultimately, Batman is just a man and wouldn't stand a chance against some of the people Superman could take on.

I did hear about a graphic novel where Batman takes on Superman, and wins...

That would be The Dark Knight Returns. If anyone hasn't read it then they really should. Plus Robin is in it and even that works. Joker at his creepy best, Superman at his pompous worst. Batman just being awesome.

I just love the idea that Batman's sheer will and aggression can overpower even superman, who is meant to be invincible.

Yeah, they've done the Batman beating Superman thing in the above instances etc. It's always been awful though, severely gimping Superman. Batman is effectively made to win just because it's automatically controversial as Superman winning is such a given. We're supposed to believe that Batman who simply has a big bank account can do what Lex with similar resources has failed to do with far better plans time and time again. Little about the Batman wins scenario fits in with the Superman character which adds to why it would be a daft idea to do on film. Better to keep the two clearly distinct series apart, I don't mind the cheeky cross references and such but if they meet Batman might as well book the weekend off.

Batman is actualy probabaly a much more determined and crazed sociopath than Lex luther is, so it makes sense that he would do a better of of beating Superman really.

Have you read DKR? It was done so well in that.

Kryptonite arrow in an alley? No, Supes would own that situation

Come on, really...a mere human with a bit of moneys to splash around being able to beat Superman? His abilities are off-the-scale awesome and varied. Literally no contest and I don't care if a comic book writer made it happen.
