Writer of Only Fools and Horses, amongst other stuff.

I never really think of writers when I'm watching TV shows, but it feels like one my heroes has just died. I suddenly just can't do anything.

Sad. Always loved Only Fools, and although I didn't like Green Green Grass at all, I thought Rock and Chips showed some promise as a comedy-drama. Dear John I rarely get tired of watching. Never really watched Just Good Friends or Citizen Smith.

I haven't seen Dear John for decades, is it on any channels or is there a dvd release?

It has been showing on GOLD, and a dvd release eventually came out recently.
