Death note live action movies

Anyone know if they're any good?

Im about 10 episodes into the anime and im utterly absorbed, and noticed there are two movies! I'm afraid to look online for fear of spoilers!

Anyone seen them? Are they worth buying and watching?

They're well worth watching, excellent casting for L and Light (some of the rest of the cast suffer from the general low quality of Japanese actors) . Although they roughly follow the route of the anime, there are some very big differences in how they play out (including a smart twist on how some of the rules of the Death Notes work).

If you want to completely avoid spoilers for the anime, there's a point halfway through the anime whiich is roughly where the movies go up to. You'll know the point when you get to it.

Hmm, there's a double pack of both films on DVD and Blu ray, both 9.99, although a review mentions problems with the blu ray release... Can anyone elaborate?

Did you get the whole season of the Anime as well?

I've only seen the films and they're really good.

In fact, my wife watched them too and thought they were great. The proposition of a subtitled fantasy film based on a manga isn't everybody's cup of tea, but she liked it so much she bought me a couple of the manga as presents.

Great story and plenty of "oooooh!" moments.

My missus was the same with the Anime...she hates most anime but these really got her interested she loved every second of them.

It's worth it.
If my wife likes it then it's got to be good...she thinks all anime is pervy & about big boobies...she's not wrong generally but was nice to show her it's not all that way lol

Well if you like them then your still ok to borrow the third - "L" Change the world (kind of a side story about L not as good as the first 2 but still worth a watch)

Mr Kirov, if I was you, I'd finish the anime first before watching the live action ones...

The Live Action ones are not bad, but the anime is miles better... Well, there are a few episodes that feel a bit wierd, but overall its a highly original, quality series!
