Warner Bros. Pictures is shutting down its “Akira” remake again due to casting and budgetary issues says Heat Vision Production offices in Vancouver are being closed with crew members apparently told to stop working and go home. Producers Jennifer Kiloran Davisson and Andrew Lazar will work with director Jaume Collet-Serra for the next two weeks […]

If they've halved the budget, is Kaneda's bike now a unicycle?

One thing actor Sam Worthington is famously refreshing for in junket interviews is his candidness. That quality seems to have been passed on to his “Wrath of the Titans” co-star Toby Kebbell who spoke quite honestly about the on again/off again live-action “Akira” remake at Warners which he was linked to late last year. At […]

Actor Toby Kebbell gives a nicely refreshingly frank chat about meeting the studio to appear in the film and why he turned it down.

This guy sums it up nicely LOLOLOL

"First, they have "The Mexican" with Brad Pitt, now they have "The Last Samurai" with Tom Cruise. Well, I've written a film, maybe they'll produce my film. The Last Ni**a on Earth, starring Tom Hanks. How about that?"

The original Akira had a recent cinema run.

You can see it on 7th Aug (2013) in Cambridge:

I heard about that, there was a showing in London too. I dont think I need a cinema showing since I got the blu ray a couple of years back. Its an unbelievable transfer, esp the sound!

Was thinking the exact same bash. The Blu-Ray is friggin superb, I don't think going to a cinema would enhance it for me.

I'd like to go one day where there's loads of other Manga/anime freaks/enthusiasts in the audience. That was my dream in the mid 90's when I was too young lol
