That's the thing with Sci-Fi, it's an incredibly broad genre. You go from great fun flicks like Star Wars to arthouse fare like Solaris. It's not often you can discuss a genre of film and talk about Flash Gordon and 2001 in the same sentence.

Impostor is pretty enjoyable and is a Philip K Dick adaption. Also this might be really obvious as an SF recommendation but how about this.Last edited by number9dream; 24-12-2011, 17:36.

Forgot about Silent Running, a true classic (though not 'horrific'). A nice film to watch at Christmas.
PS: @ Shinobi - that "King Of the Streets" looks aces!
PPS: That 2019 actually got a Poundland bootleg *uncut* UK DVD release on the '23rd Century' label (they used to have loads of DVDs in pound shops a few years back). It was actually a rip of the US Blue Underground release (iirc?) so the quality is awesome, despite it being a dodgy disc. I've got it and it's not the best 'bad' movie ever but it's pretty fun.Last edited by JazzFunk; 24-12-2011, 19:30.

Well, these are probably pretty obvious, but:
-Robocop (love it!)
-2001: A Space Odyssey
-Star Trek films (haven't really seen that many of them)
-Blade Runner (one of my all time favorite films)
-Firefly TV series
-Moon
-Brazil (more futuristic dystopia film than pure sci-fi)
-Cowboy Bebop anime series (and the movie)
-New Battlestar Galactica series

Just incase boris is still wanting some sci if....
Some quirky sci fi movies you may not have seen are..
Serenity (providing you have watched firefly first)
Cube
Silent running
lifeforce
event horizon (not amazing but probably the closest thing you will get to a Prometheus experience outside alien, and it does have some great moments if you can ignore the bad direction and ridiculous use of slow motion.)
Solaris (remake or original, both are good).Last edited by rmoxon; 25-06-2012, 23:26.
