Lol yeah it was shockingly bad.
Black Butler as you said was dire I think I did make about 3 episodes (the 2nd was passable as it had some violence & stuff)

Judge has been a fave of mine for a long time.
Shame all the occult stuff has been so dumbed down now it was some of th bits that got me hooked on the Manga VHS back in the day.

Thanks for the info on the other stuff.
I got Attack on Titan for Christmas so will do that & I've got Kill La Kill on my to buy list.
Gurren Lagann, Steins Gate & Psycho Pass are all on Netflix so will get them on my brothers to watch list too.

    Thanks again

    Neil
Just go straight to Gurren Lagann and forget all the rest, especially the massively overrated Attack on Titan. I've gotten the first few eps of Kill La Kill under my belt and am looking forward to watching more (same peeps as TTGL).

If you start at the top everything else that comes after will be a let down

Forgot to mention Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso in the autumn round up, 14eps and still going. Has some beautiful art and top animation production everything episode so far, and it helps the story and the characters are good to. Based around failed pianist getting swept up in the flow of off an very energetic and loud violinist combined with some super tense moments when it comes performances and doing a really good job pulling the heart strings with his and her pasts.

Almost got through all of the new stuff, but for now I'd say Rolling Girls seems to be the pick of the season, done by some of the guys that did TTGL and Kill la Kill, so expect super powered battles, though as of the end of ep2 I have no idea where the show going to go,

since they pulled a swerve on who I though was the MC

I'll differ and say definitely do watch Attack on Titan, don't skip it. It's very good. It does divide people a bit, but I really liked it.

That being said, anything which gets a person to see Gurren Lagann sooner is positive in my book.

Also, on an unrelated sad note, I heard that Origa died over the weekend. For those who don't know, she was the singer on the title track on the opening themes to Ghost in the Shell Stand-Alone Complex (both the first and second seasons). She died from lung cancer aged 44, which is no age these days.

GITS:Arise from the music standpoint alone is a massive disappointment, not a patch on SAC and both those OP's are fantastic.

          New shows in Winter Season:

          Watching for sure:
Aldnoah Zero s2 - more Real robot action with Eggs returning, not unexpected but they do seem to have some wonder medical equipment on hand to dig them out of that ending to s1... anyway I like the setup to show, Super Robot needs dealing with so send in Eggs to save day by figuring out the tricks it employs to appear invincible.

Assassination Classroom - never read the manga but it seems decent enough story I've seen before, special-ed class gets selected by a super villain no army can kill to be taught for the year, in which if they don't kill him, the octopus thing will blow the earth up. Most it will probably be highschool high-jinx in where the villain teacher teaches life lessons to the rejected kids to improve them and think better of themselves (while they try to kill him).

Durarara s2 - never, ever expected to see this show come back, I'd mostly forgotten the ending outside the dollars phone system and blondie running off with the girl he was looking for. Anyway worth watching it you like a large cast drama show with a leaning to the occult for the cities stranger inhabitants, where smaller plot strings from all separate character stories come together by the end.

Dog Days s3 - seems a slightly more serious tone with the demon angle rather than just straight up country vs country wargames(for resources), more new furries added to already massive cast.

          Jojo part3 s2- more Jojo!

the IdolMaster CG - its back with new generation, skipping out the lot that came after the originals, its more idol crap but with the total comedy of the emotionless producer.

          Rolling Girls - mentioned before

          Trial period list

Death Parade - not my thing so i'll almost certainly drop it, about judging who gets to live/die or go to heaven/hell/reborn over various people at deaths door, just not a fans of a show where your guaranteed to have twist ending everything episode.

Maria the Virgin Witch - very strange one, set during one of the many England vs France war's, with a very Akira Toriyama like art. Maria as witch sets about stopping bloodshed around her using magic and gets into a scuffle with heaven.. plays around a lot with using sex as a means to an end for the story and jokes.

Saekano - High school Harem about making a VN game.

Yuri Kuma Arashi - cute bears eating people and eating yuri love?? not sure, didn't enjoy it as I couldn't stand bear MC's so haven't gone back to watch ep2 yet to see if it improves. By the guy that did Penguin drum so expect mind****ery.

Kantai Collection - I thought it was just going to be Strike Witches, a SoL with no danger, monster of the week fights.. oh hell was I wrong.. seems there following the order the ships sank in during world war 2 (for the ships that have appeared so far)... I can't imagine them killing the entire cast but 4 ships off... it at least added tension to the show and makes it stand out a lot more, not that it needed to as it has a massive following.

Absolute Duo, high school battle with partners - decent animation at least, MC can't only summon a shield compared to everyone else's weapons

Unlimited Fafnir - Harem high school battle - its like IS with magic instead of power armour (so its probably going to be ****)

Seiken Tsukai no World Break, high school battle with cast all having memories of past lives - awful art

Shinmai Maou no Testament - high school battle like a less pervy DxD high school - meh

Yoru no Yatterman - set generations after Yatterman heroes beat the D, in a interesting switch the badguy's are the MC's.

Koufuku Graffiti - SoL about 2 girls going to art school but mostly features what I can only describe as food porn, of the girls can cook really well, they then go eat the food in a variety of places with a insane amount of animation put into each bite and close up of the food... you need to watch at least one episode of this for it to make sense.

          Not watched
Tokyo Ghoul 2 yet, its suppose to go into different direction to the manga, which the author thought about using but never did, so i'll probably watch if I hear good things as I really like the Manga and found the anime really disappointing (did anyone watch the uncut version?).

Fafner DA s2, I remember watching s1 back in the early 00's it was that long ago I've forgotten what its all about aside from EVA/rahxephon like end of times show with Gundam SEED sameface.. so im probably going to revisit s1 once i dig out my old cd-r's and watch it along with the recent film that's set between both seasons.

Upgrading Saekano to must watch list, ep2 just had me laughing all the way through which is all down to the full introduction of Kato, her interactions with the MC even for a typical Harem/VN title are fantastic and I hope based on the OP and ED she remains the focus of comedy and story rather than the typical tsun'childhood friend and the Cool/Cold top student.

Discovered someone is fansubbing the laughing salesman, pretty pleased as it's one i have always wanted to see, there are a lot of Fujiko Fujio's anime i'd love to see, now if only someone would fansub Obake Q tarou.

Watched a few episodes so far, kind of weird seeing a show that has no happy endings lol. Every persons life that fukuzou touches ends up messed up. That first episode ending LOOL dear lord there's no way this would ever get aired on tv over here.

Holy heck! Aria is getting a new animation! This really came out of nowhere and is a massive surprise as they've used up nearly all the manga content already so this would have to be original work (I wouldn't mind if it was Prima Akari 'n' co teaching new students, which would make sense as Alicia VA and singer are both dead).

What next, Haruhi returns, new FMP? (if only)

Death Parade, Rolling Girls, KanColle and Space Dandy are all holding my attention.

It's amazing how far things have come in a short time thanks to simulcasting and streaming sites.

I've been watching Shirobako which I think is running on from last season. It's kinda like Bakuman, but for anime production. It's very good.

Things finally coming to a head in the last few recent eps of onepiece, it was fun seeing Usopp have his moment to shine (lol literally). Wonder how many more episodes it'll be before this arc is complete and they move on to a new destination i was pleased to see that a fitting person got Ace's meramera fruit.

Some wonderful person has made batch torrents of gegege no kitaro i have been dying to watch this series in it's entirety for the longest of time but the most i could ever find was one off fansubbed episodes here & there on youtube. Managed to get all 115 episodes of the 1997 series and currently getting the 100 from the 2007 series just hope the seed stays active. Would love to have them on dvd but i don't have ?500 to spare to buy the box sets. It saddens me that some series like this just totally get ignored by fansub groups and yet other shows have people falling over themselves to sub them.

Making do with the unsubbed eps but it's a bit hard going as i have to listen extra hard to understand them as i'm not good at listening practise in Japanese but my extensive knowledge of traditional youkai is helping out a lot seeing as all the youkai in this series are ones based on folklore. If it's a choice of making do with the raws or not watching it at all then i'll be going for raws every time. So far about 70% understandable although i can't binge watch them as it's just too much mental fatigue lol.

Now if only someone would upload a mega torrent batch of every Doraemon episode hehe.

Well Streaming has come along away (I sub croll just so I can make my way through Gintama ) its killed off all the classic groups and anything not covered by streaming sites you have to hope is picked up by amateurs nowerdays.

Yeah sadly it seems that older series don't seem to get picked up as much for fansubbing, maybe youkai isn't something that appeals. Shame really as i love shows revolving around youkai and gegege no kitaro is one of the absolute best. After 6 solid days of downloading i now have all of the 2007 series of gegege which is a mini miracle considering there were only 2 seeds active for it, i was expecting it to die before it even reached 50%.

Watched a few episodes and it seems that they are different to the 1997 series i know every 10 years they remake it but it will be interesting to see if they are the same episodes in each series. Love the bite size appeal each episode is a self contained story revolving around 1 youkai like an animated encyclopedia of Japanese folklore. I'm thoroughly going to enjoy going therough all 215 episodes that i have from both series. Curious to see if i can find the 1987 series online to compare. Needed something to replace the gap that mushishi left, lol not that i'm running out of anime have quite a few series to keep up with, still loving assasination classroom one i'll definately be sticking with.

Joy of joys i have found out someone is resubbing bobobo already upto episode 27, the worst thing to ever happen to that series was getting officially licensed as the dubbing job they did absolutely ruined it. garbage english voice acting and all the good wordplay jokes removed and dumbed down.

Happy to finally be able to see it how it was meant to be, one of the few anime to reduce me to tears with laughter. Inital D on vacum cleaners cracks me up every single time.
