new posts

Not looked up the new season till now and there's some nice sequels i want to watch.

    Working s3 (whoop)
    Symphogear S3 (double whoop)
    Non Non Biyori s2
    Durarara s2 part2
    Fate Illya s2 part2

as far as new stuff that looks interesting

Aquarion Logos - more Super Robot/RomCom.. technically a sequel as these tend to be set 10,000 years after the last AQ show so really you only needing knowledge of which reborn soul might be who if the theme stays true to AQ mythos.
    Overload
Prison School (wonder how uncensored it'll be)
God Eater (UFO so at least the animation will be good, hope the music from the game carries over)

and the new Dragon Ball TV show looks bad.. but i'll probably watch it anyway... it just not the same with out the english dub for me.

Dragonball z super first episode is out and i liked it my only worry though is it does look like it may be retreading the battle of the gods film though

Dragon Ball's still very much a kids show at its heart with what seems to be family adventure of the week until Purple Egypt Dog turns up. Having not seen the film, this will be all new to me if they retread the fights. Still don't like Jp VA's for DB, Goku is just so wrong for an Adult.

As for the new season, there's alot of interesting stuff for the d?but shows (so far) with

Overlord - seems to be SAO/Log Horizon (trapped in a MMORPG) if the MC was a Badguy.
Ranpo Kitan - no idea who this famous dead author is but show is one of those rare detective thrillers centred on a couple of high school'ers solving gruesome murders.
Shimoneta - a near future japan where swearing and porn are banned, a terrorist "group" fights back, which for the ep1 involved giving japan's public back its dirty jokes, puns and magazines with plenty of nudity... kind of like Seitokai Yakuindomo dialled to 11.

as for returning shows Senki Zesshou Symphogear 3rd season knocks it out the park again, starts with surfing on missiles, cutting mountains in half and suplexing a space shuttle in the first 15 mins... ****ing fantastic! Rest of the episode is crammed with slice of life high jinx, world tour stage singing(stupid amount of animation budget thrown at it), rescue rangering and of course setting up the next set of mythology theme baddies to punch in the face. Best show by far, worth watching even if you've not seen the insanity of season season 1 and 2.

Couple of weeks into the season now, just keep to impressions on the none-sequels.

Overlord - rather than follow the mmorpg tropes i thought it would do, it seems to turned into proper dark fantasy title, and an enjoyable one at that.

Gangsta - really enjoying this, kind of like best of Black Lagoon and GunGrave(during the Mafia bits), 2 handymen do jobs in the slums and back ally's of some south american city. I fully expect from the way there introducing alot of secondary characters the shows going kill off alot off them by the end.

GATE - a fantasy world finds it way into our world via a massive gate into Tokyo, after some rampaging the army push the invaders back into the gate and proceed to set camp in the invaders world, modern military vs fantasy armies seems quite refreshing.

Prison School - pure filth, don't think we've seen a show quite this ecchi in along time... had me laughing and cringing every episode so far, definitely worth watching to the end of episode 2 at least.

GOD Eater - another improvement in the CGI see's it getting closer to 2D, typical shounen fodder with Teens fighting monsters with massive weapons.

Akagami no Shirayukihime - another fantasy world setting, this time abit more slice of life with a teen girl with red hair making her way in life as a herbalist/doctor. Quite enjoyable so far with the typical man/women relationships found in most shoujo shows.

Chaos Dragon - not all that good so far, but it does have a interesting theme that the MC's main power can only be briefly used (to one shot anything to death) if he sacrifices something of equal value which usually turns out to be a close friend/allies... you can tell how bad it going to get with killing off the entire cast as they've set up a picture of everyone at the end of the episode with a X through whoevers dead. Usual fantasy setting, set on a country island with 3 warring states, each sending its elite to to team up together against a bigger evil.

Aquarion Logos - abit of a poor showing so far and seems to have very little to do with the overall Aqurion mythos, i think the main problem with the show for none natives is the use of written language as the driving force for enemies and powers which means very little those no versed in it (like me), doesn't help the art style is pretty ugly and the CGI is some of the worst in recent years.. not a patch on previous Aquarion's.

Charlotte - judging by just the 1st episode i thought this would be a typical high-school chuuni powered show following the hi-jinx of teens using their powers in and around the school, while it does do some of that it goes of to dark places and has a surprisingly amount of violence, and can only expect it escalate as they try to find more teens with special powers.

Rokka no Yuusha - fantasy shounen fighting show where 6 chosen fighters must come together to kill the next rebirth of the demon lord thingy. Art isn't great as its mixing the 2d world/characters with 3D demons and so looks quite jarring. My main reason for sticking with it is the MC isn't all that strong, doesn't have special powers like the other 5 braves, and so makes do by fighting dirty, quick thinking and making the most of the surroundings.

Gakkou Gurashi - i didn't read what the show was about and its probably for the best to go in cold. I thought it was pretty dam boring SoL school club activities show but the ending of ep1...

the MC girl has PTSD from the end of the world zombie apocalypse, that she imagines everything is ok while the other few survivors are fully aware and creeped out by it... cue cute girls spading zombie heads in and the like.

Damn, Laws backstory in onepiece is Robin levels of dark. No wonder he was messed up as a kid.

New seasons been so jam packed i've forgotten to catch up with one piece anime.

Working s3 -- developments, developments everywhere! seems like the show i thought would have relationships go nowhere and brush of everything as a misunderstanding seems to be going places, so this feels at the pace there going at like the last season for working if all (obvious) couples get together.

Prison School ep3 - holy hell at the things these lads do, laughing all the way through,

the blonde lad mistaking the MC's plan for a gay love in, the Vice Pres sweaty squats, ****ting of pants and the heel up the ass...

not many shows can do that.. but we have a another contender the ecchi crown this season.

Shimoneta ep4 - giving prison school a run for it money... i thought it would be all stupid sex-puns/gags but holy heck then end to ep4

with the Pres holding him down, and just dripping everywhere... and omg at that snail trail on her way home.

                great fun

also just to add, the Naruto the last and Psycho Pass films have hit the torrents, whoop!!

Naruto: the Last, not really much of normal Naruto film, very few fights and a very lame villain (which to be fair is almost every shounen film villain from bleach to one piece), very much centred around a love story for NarutoxHinata though quite how they got to stage after the events if manga (like her fight vs Pain and Neiji bit in the ninja war) is a bit hard to swallow that Naruto is just a complete dumbass when it comes to love with all the Sakura stuff very early in the story (and a couple of bits in Shippenden). I think i would have just liked it to be a SoL with all the characters just living there lives out which seemed to be the most interesting part for me in the 1st quarter of the film.

Probably another 8 months till we see the Naurto kid film... which from trailer just seems him looking way to strong (naruto+hinata combat techs, and Sasuke moves to from being his trainer), i just don't see why we're suppose to route for him when he's clearly not an underdog and there nothing to develop character wise has he has everything handed to him on a plate.

Kind of gave up with Naruto it became far too tedious to keep going with thanks to the damn filler in the end i just watched all the battles spliced together on youtube with all the crap cut out. The battles are amazing but dear god that filler is unreal.

On a better note, watched this weeks ep of shokugeki no Soma it keeps getting better and better. Really loving this show, great characters & the story is fun so far. They have ramped down the echi stuff too making it a bit more sane although the foodgasms do pop up now & again. One thing i really love is the commercial break skits they are always pretty funny, they even have one after the ending so i always make sure to watch.

Also loving Shokugeki no Soma! Great show.

Charlotte and Classroom Crisis are cool too, quite a good season at the moment for my money.

I've gotten into GATE, for me apart from the different setting of swords vs modern army, its that the people from the fantasy seem to have a proper set logic to them that's consistent, no one seems to be playing the idiot just to much the story along.

And you guys would give Prison School a go, it's fantastic.

Charlotte ep5 - i've been enjoying as well however there are just alot of questions i keep asking myself like who are these people funding these school and why can't the science people just waltz in and kidknap them? seems like they could do what they liked previously in the flashbacks with the invisible girl.

                          As far ep5 the

bullying seen just seem out of nowhere and completely stupid for her not even fight back... i could understand if she didn't already use the powers on other specials and bad people already, and even if it doesn't work in crowds it she could at least throw a punch which seems in her personality to do, so why does she play the victim. And as this is by the people that did Angel Beats and Little Busters i'm fully expecting some **** hits the fan moment soon, and i would be surprised if the little sister gets it.

I'm seeing people pop up all over the place who have seen the new Dragonball Z movie; the one with Frieza.

How are people seeing it? I know it's out in the cinema in some places but that definitely doesn't account for everyone I see talking about it online. PM me, if you don't want to post.

Watched Gunbuster yesterday, thought that it was bloody brilliant.

Also in the process of finally watching Cowboy Bebop and I polished off "My Mental Choices Are Completely Interfering With My School Romantic Comedy" yesterday too but that was a load of rubbish.
