Yeah, I guess so.
I think my main issues with it would be the same as any long running shounen show, not enough context in the first 25 episodes. Perhaps that is a good thing though because I'm really damn curious as to the explanation behind certain stuff in the show. Supposedly this hasn't been discussed in the manga yet either, the one key point I'm talking about at least. See what I did there?
Either way if it continues on for another 25 episodes, which it probably will, I can see my opinion changing but as of now it is what it is.
One thing I will say though is that the animation and visuals are pretty damn good most of the time. Especially the first intro which is just really damn cool.

I've not read the SnK manga in while so im behind 3-4 chapters but had been getting pretty interesting with the reveals, which won't happen till a second seasons out. A lot of the enjoyment for me was coming in the with knowledge what's to come spotting all the hints and foreshadowing.
Also glad Akame ga Kill is getting a anime later his year, similar to SnK it a monthly "teen/adult" where a group of rebel assassins take on the corrupt kingdom by killing important leaders, the hook comes from most of the important fighters having special weapons which when they clash someone will always die due to the power they hold (or in some cases both die..) so they build up characters on both sides which results in tense battles where you don't know who will die next.

I've fallen behind with the anime, think I stopped where in the 610/620 mainly down to horrible pace they need to use to cram as much idling filler animation, massive openings, recaps, breaks and endings due to being right on top of the manga... they really need to stop and let the manga get ahead by a year similar to Bleach's current break. Still the manga is top notch at least.
Concerning manga I picked up some new reads in Shape of Voice, UQ Holder and All you need is Kill. Anyone reading anything else outside the usual popular battle/adventure mangas, I've lost interest in Naruto and Bleach as the endgame arcs are just terrible and im following it because I've already come this far and it only 5/10 mins of my time, while One Piece keeps the faith and Fairy Tail while being no different to what else is in the genre never fails to entertain me with its great art'n'characters (same goes for the Breakers).

I've been reading a few things that lie outside of that. Nisekoi was okay for a while, pretty standard romcom stuff with some nice art (haven't read it in a while though so not sure how its faring now). Again!! is a sort of weird school life story with some really good art involving a cheerleading squad and parallel universes/dreamworlds where this guy gets a chance to relive his school life which was a pretty unhappy experience for him, so he's more proactive about it the second time round. Yamada and the seven witches. is similar to the above titles but features more overt supernatural stuff. So you have body-swapping and other assorted powers in play. More romcom/ light smut I guess. Baby steps - think Ippo but with Tennis and the main character is a smart guy who uses that to his advantage plus hard work and there's a romance in there which plays out nicely. Still ongoing as well but there's a fair chunk of chapters to read. Ocha Nigosu - follows this delinquent as he's trying to reform by joining the tea ceremony club. Lots of misunderstandings and the humour that derives from that.
I've only just started 7 seeds and it's been okay but I hear it's really good when it gets going. That's something a bit different.

I'll have a look in to them apart from Baby steps, not a fan of tennis and never took to prince of tennis either, probably go for Again first. Since then I picked 2 "realistic" MMA mangas, All-rounder Meguru a technical MMA fighter with the typical hardworker with a talent for copying moves done on him and Teppu with is about womens MMA but the main girl in a odd twist would be the typical villain in another battle shounen'esk story.. love it.
Far as anime goes still watching everything I mentioned before, special mention for Tokyo's Raven being a very surprising show recently definitely worth getting through the early episodes see what happens later on.

Been watching One Piece over the last week after I had a couple of months break after finishing the first season. Already hooked right back in, it really is great isn't it? Im currently on episode 75 so knowing that I have another 600 episodes ahead is extremely daunting but its currently up there with my favourite anime series
Also just watched the first episode of Senran Kagura, I don't think I have seen a (non porn) anime with so much fan service before. Super Robot Wars and High School of the Dead had lots but this is on another level lol
