Been listening to Wednesday 13's Transylvania 90210 (I'm not a scary goth man, I promise!), and it's very good indeed. Hadn't even realised that he'd gone on to do anything else after the Murderdolls (again, not a scary goth man, honest) until the other day, but I'm glad I found out.

I think the band is just made up of ex Murderdolls and Dope members, for anyone who cares and didn't already know.

          Mirrored - Battles.

Don't really know what to make of this to be honest. A mate put me on to them and apparently they're dead good live. I always liked Helmet so it's good to see the old drummer doing something else but the whole synthed/improvised vocals thing isn't really doing it for me. Plus, I can totally picture jazz people and chin stroking arseholes nodding along to this and smugly chuckling at the wittiness of it all.

And Tomb of the Mutilated - Cannibal Corpse. Super duper.

Into the Wild soundtrack by Eddie Vedder today - very nice, but some of the tracks a disappointingly short. Next up is the new Foos album...

The Congos - Heart of the Congos

I haven't listened to anything else for the last eight days.

I was lucky enough to own a rare dodgy bootleg of this back in the early nineties when it was near impossible to find (should have sold it back then - would have made a mint). I've finally bought myself the reissued CD (God the sound quality is sooo much better) that came out a few years ago and the extra six tracks are FANTASTIC! Just as good as the original ten tracks on the album.

This is becoming a definite in my top three albums of all time and I'm so glad its reputation is starting to meet that. It's amazing that it sold sweet FA back in 1977 and took nearly 20 years to be issued properly again.

It IS just the most beautiful thing.

                        That Congos album is class.

I've been listening to the 'Seafarers Music EP' and other stuff by Bonny 'Prince' Billy alot recently.
