Today I have been mostly listening to Basement Jaxx - Kish Kash, in particular the track "Good luck".

An Icelandic itallian who sounds like a less eccentric Bjork. Most of you have probably heard her on the credits of LotR:TTT singing gollums song. Nice album just a shame theres not a bit more too it.
Good choice, great album. Bought it a while back after seeing her perform on TOTP or something (CD:UK maybe? back when Ant and Dec were doing SMTV). Perfect music to relax to.

Radio 1 played a live version of Jaxx's Good Luck the other day and it was purdy fine I can tell you.

Today's tunage is the Winter Sessions by Erick Morillo. I'm not usually a house fan but this mix started off nicely but the last track had me reaching for eject in boredom.

CD 2 has again started pretty well - will have to see what it brings.

I saw them live when I took my girlfriend-before-last to see The Ataris. They were supporting.

The latter has the best versions of Eternal Life and Kick out the Jams, in my opinion anyway.

                      Ah, another DCFC fan.

Very summery and melancholic at the same time.

Listening to Sopor Aeternus. The song which I'm listening to right now is The stake of my soul.

Quite an odd artist, all the songs are about him (or her). The reason why I said her is because of his transsexuality. Don't know if he/she prefers to be called she instead of he. The name is Anna-Varney so I suppose it should be she. Most songs are about his experience dealing with this transsexuality which he didn't understand when young. Interesting lyrics and some great music. Not the ordinary setup of instruments. Lot's of flutes, violins and trumphets. Along with drums and more normal stuff.

"Built brick by brick and fear by fear...- Oh, everything's inverted here. These walls have eyes, these vaults have ears and there's no hiding from the tears...

...And in the silence that followed I learned to speak the secret language of denial and fear; seemingly gentle for its absence of voices, yet, it's merely a shroud for a deafening scream.
                        "

That's the kind of lyrics you find in Sopor's music!

Annie Nightengale's radio1 set. Always good for new white labels/bootlegs.
