Following release date shifting from Disney and Fox ahead of the impending merger, other studios are beginning to reshuffle their slates too and today Gal Gadot confirmed that Wonder Woman 1984 has been delayed back until 05 June 2020. It seems ropey at first until you realise the date is the same time of year as the first film succeeded in rather than the previous November date where it would soon be contested by Episode IX

By the sounds they are and its being referred to as being a spin-off of sorts of Suicide Squad suggesting the approach the film will be taking.
The only thing that stands out for me is that it suggests that it's not a serious film despite aiming for an R-rating, that'll be the third release in a row to push DC into less grim-dark territory

This year we saw Warners forego its development of the David Ayer-directed “Gotham City Sirens” project in favour of a Cathy Yan-helmed “Birds of Prey” movie. Ultimately both films are built around Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn leading a team of female DC Comics characters against a bad guy, but while ‘Birds’ has her amongst vigilantes […]

In interviews this week Jason Momoa and Amy Adams have said that neither of them are clued up on what DC is planning with the films going forward. Adams says DC is planning on revamping its film line up and that she doesn't expect to return. Momoa speculated about Cavill, Affleck and Adams being finished in the DCU earlier in the week but in a new red carpet comment he's said that Cavill is staying in the role 100%.

My friend and I watched Aquaman yesterday. It sits between Man of Steel and Wonder Woman for me. A good DC film that has its own ridiculous moments but was well shot, well acted, the action isn't solely CG-augmented (there's a good amount of practical here with effective editing (or seemingly none at all)).
I've seen some reviewers say this is a bad film but I don't agree. It has its faults but its another sign that DC doesn't have to be dark and dreary all the time (perhaps different directors to Snyder is the key?)
