With Venom looking to be a hit Sony is moving on to its second project with filming starting on Morbius in February with Jared Leto.
The axe could fall fast on Fox's XCU canon and any non-filming projects such as Gambit as it looks like the Disney/Fox merger could be done and official from the earlier date of 01 January 2019. It is being considered a shoe-in that Feige will take over the X-Men property.
Meanwhile, back at Sony, the writer of Kraven the Hunter is working on the script and hopes his movie can the first to wrestle in a Spider-Man appearance to make the MCU connection official. That'll be hard though unless the situation with Marvel changes or Sony opts not to extend the existing agreement post-2021 and they pull Holland into these movies, no longer allowing him to be in the mainline MCU movies.
