Thor: Love and Thunder - Box Office Mojo
Thor: Love and Thunder lightning leapt in its second weekend to hit $713m worldwide. As much as the film has earnt though, the drop off in its second week was one of the strongest that the MCU has ever seen meaning that the film looks set to be a strong performer overall but very front loaded and short runned.
Minions: The Rise of Gru - Box Office Mojo
The second Minions film reached $532m this weekend holding stronger than the first entry
Where the Crawdads Sing - Box Office Mojo
Whilst Where the Crawdad's Sing was the only new film, opening to the sum of $17m
Paws of Fury: The Legend of Hank - Box Office Mojo
Animated Blazing Saddles remake Paws of Fury could only muster $6m
Elvis - Box Office Mojo
Whilst Elvis seemed to be all shook up as its box office growth slowed hard, hitting $170m this week. It is however Warners most successful 2022 non-franchise release.
Top Gun: Maverick - Box Office Mojo
Top Gun: Maverick settled the weekend on $1.237bn, on the verge of entering the All-Time Top 10 Domestic Earners list.
No new releases this week so it's a battle of return businesses

It's been a fortnight so let's see where we stand:
DC League of Super-Pets - Box Office Mojo
League of Superpets opened to $41m worldwide. The result wasn't amazing but the film fell in line with The Bad Guys that enjoyed a healthy run and DC's animated film is the only family release on the cards across the coming months so it could enjoy a long shelf life
Nope - Box Office Mojo
Nope held fairly steady, rising to $80m but the fall in business suggests that international launches will make or break this one
Minions: The Rise of Gru - Box Office Mojo
Minions: The Rise of Gru stands at $710m and will likely be wrapping up its run in the coming weeks
Thor: Love and Thunder - Box Office Mojo
A revision must have been made at some point as the film now stands on $662m worldwide. It's looking unlikely the film will add China and Russian hauls to its tally which will lock it in to coming in behind Ragnarok as the film begins to end its run
The Black Phone - Box Office Mojo
The Black Phone took $83.1m in the US which means it has overtaken Scream 5 to become the highest grossing domestic horror of the year. The same happened internationally too where it clipped $141m.
Top Gun: Maverick - Box Office Mojo
Top Gun: Maverick clipped $1.321bn as it heads into its final weeks of release
Nothing releasing this week of note so expect just shuffles

Bullet Train - Box Office Mojo
Bullet Train opened to $62m worldwide setting it up for a reasonable run given that no other major movie is now set to release at cinemas until mid-October.
DC League of Super-Pets - Box Office Mojo
League of Super-Pets hit $83m in its second week, holding solidly but with a fair way to go given its $90m budget
Nope - Box Office Mojo
Nope hit $97m this week, but seems to be headed to its end as an underperformer compared to Peele's prior films. It has yet to open internationally and will do so in a quiet market but Peele's films have struggled to appeal to non-US audiences with over two thirds of their business being US based.
Thor: Love and Thunder - Box Office Mojo
Thor: Love and Thunder is also wrapping up its run, it rose to $698m so looks like it won't get overly deep into the $700m's. Technically though the film will have slightly outperformed Ragnarok.
Minions: The Rise of Gru - Box Office Mojo
Minions: The Rise of Gru leapt up to $905m putting it in the same ballpark as the other entries
Top Gun: Maverick - Box Office Mojo
In its 11th weekend Top Gun: Maverick broke $1.352bn and this week overtook the domestic box office of Titanic. It is now just a few million away from overtaking the domestic figure for The Avengers: Infinity War

The Woman King - Box Office Mojo
The Woman King opened in the US this week to $19m which was ahead of projections and marked the first successful new opening in ages at the big screen. Additional to that it scored an A+ rating from audiences, only the second film of the entire year to hit that score with the other being Top Gun: Maverick. The film should have a solid month long run now to pull in numbers against its $50m budget.

Barbarian - Box Office Mojo
Horror Barbarian rose to $22m worldwide
