Ours is still: Aladdin>....
I still can't put my finger on why Aladdin just about pulls it off, I think probably due to the likeability of the cast and it being quite a light film though there's no desire for a sequel. The rest have ranged from meh to awful though and a very mild bit of curiosity aside for the Little Mermaid adaptation it feels like they've burnt off the worthwhile properties now.

Disney reportedly had a rule in place that Live Action versions of its animated films were fine as long as they avoided post-2000 era properties as these were seen as too current and a risk on the profitability of popular films still being merchandised... but then Disney started running out of teets to milk...
Disney Pictures is reportedly developing a live-action film based on the story of “Rapunzel,” a tale they previously adapted into the famed animated feature “Tangled”. The DisInsider broke the story, saying the new film is NOT being billed as a “Tangled” remake – though it’d be a shock if that film’s influence isn’t felt. Ashleigh […]
The source says Disney isn't planning on marketing this film as a live action adaptation of Tangled but they're apparently developing a live action Rapunzel story. So, either its a live action Tangled which is way too soon or not a live action Tangled from Disney that no-one would want.

In the wake of “No Time to Die” being postponed until November earlier today, speculation is quickly rising as to what will be pushed next? The only other two box-office juggernauts opening before May are Paramount’s “A Quiet Place Part II” and Disney’s “Mulan”. The former isn’t expected to be impacted as it will do […]

Disney has cast two newcomers as the leads in their adaptation of Peter Pan which is now going by the name of Peter Pan & Wendy. The film will be directed by the helmer of the Pete's Dragon remake. Curious how they go about making this one relevant as Peter Pan as a property is a bit like Robin Hood - overkilled

Disney have been the last to flinch due to the coronavirus, but they’ve done so in a big way. The Mouse House has pulled their live-action “Mulan,” 20th Century Studios X-Men spin-off “The New Mutants,” and Searchlight’s horror film “Antlers” all from the schedule. The films were slated to open March 27th, April 3rd and […]

I watched Lion King last night and I have rather random observation.
We watched the Frozen Christmas Olaf adventure and at the end I was surprised that it was the original voice actors because to me they didn't sound right.
Then we watched Lion King and aside from James Earl Jones, everyone sounded bland and genuinely bored. Have Disney changed the way they recorded the voices or is it me?

I think with the Olaf one, I can imagine they had a fraction of the time to work on line delivery etc so you end up with something ever so less polished. With the Lion King it's just a result of making something outright inferior where they're simultaneously casting to egt people who aren't the original cast but are close enough not to irritate audiences and also meet certain criteria leading to choices that aren't the best fit.

With most of the other studios having ditched this Summer for moviegoing and rescheduling various films into next year, Disney Pictures is now doing the same for its slate. Heat Vision reports that the Mouse House has made sweeping changes to its theatrical release calendar for the next two years amid the coronavirus pandemic. As […]
Mulan has been set a new date of 24 July 2020 which still feels a little ambitious

A day after Warner Bros. Pictures pushed back “Tenet” from July 31st to August 12th, Disney has delayed its live-action adaptation of “Mulan” by a month. The film, which was to hit in March and more recently has been targeting July 24th, will now arrive in cinemas on August 21st – the move effectively ends […]

In a surprising move, Disney Pictures has announced that its live-action “Mulan” film is going to try a bold experiment – a merging of both SVOD and PVOD. Specifically the film will premiere both in cinemas and on the Disney+ streaming service on September 4th. However it won’t come free with the standard Disney+ membership […]
Disney gives up on trying to attain massive box office success with Mulan and commits to a 04 September 2020 in available cinemas and also via Disney+ on the same day. However, you won't have access to the film on Disney+ as normal and will have to pay $29.99 to view it.
