Watched the first episode of Echoes. Very little happens and the acting is very stiff, with a super annoying police character. The plot twist at the end of the episode was awesome though and turned it from a hard pass to a must watch. However I struggled in the second episode but they still managed to pull off a last minute reveal that will mean I have to watch another episode. Gah.

Watched the second ep of The Last of Us last night. Again, thought it was really good. So many things nailed. Standouts for me were Ellie's character developing nicely and the locations ... they're just spot on. Really great so far. Just hope it's sustainable.

We also watched two eps of The Rig. Wanted to love it but it's kinda dull. Honestly think we've tapped already.

Let the Right One In: Season 01
This works despite drawing out a pretty obvious storyline a bit too far. A second season would need to ratchet things up a gear to keep it engaging enough to continue being interesting but the cast is good, not sure it will get another run though as apparently the viewing figures were low.

Episode 3 of TLoU was mint.

The Last of Us: Episode 03
Already read some criticisms of the new ep saying that it is padding but tbh I imagine they're side stepping their real issues with it. Knowing the games plot I wasn't sure where they were going with this at first but a pattern is emerging now whereby the showrunners are cutting huge amounts of gameplay sequences out of the story and replacing them by expanding mythology from the game. It's a smart move, keeps the series feeling very faithful whilst actually making quite large changes and this ep is clever in particular as whilst it deviates massively from the game it succeeds in creating character investment where the first two eps haven't really managed to do as yet, all whilst shunting the main characters forward indirectly. I'm assuming the next ep will be very counter to this one unless they plan on skipping nearly all action based sections of the game.

We're watching The Traitors US (BBC iPlayer), but our son saw us discussing it and wanted in, so he's bingedwatched over the weekend to catch up and we all watched an episode together last night!

It's a different set of people to the UK one. I'd say the UK one was "nicer" because it was fairly normal people, but the US one has those reality "celebrities" that seem to have a skewed perception of reality.

There's one who is an awful human being, but great television.
They're horrible, so nobody likes being around them, and they increasingly don't want to be there.
So they throw some of the tasks because they don't care and don't want to be adding to the Traitors' prize pot.
However, this makes them look really genuine, so people keep asking "a traitor wouldn't do that, keep them in", so they're at this stalemate where they'll probably make it to the finale!

Oh and something we're definitely not watching with our son is Extraordinary on Disney+, it's proper rude! It's about a world where everyone develops a superpower, apart from the lead character who hasn't got one yet.
It's really funny, but the first episode is quite sad. I know it's setting a scene for the story to resolve, but it's pretty relentless!

Second episode sees a guy forming a team of vigilante superheroes, only to spend the first meeting arguing over who knows where the clit is...

It's a good twist on the superhero genre where most powers are played for laughs like a dentist's power is people generate their own soundtrack around them, so it's this horror music most the time!

Came here to say this. Armand from White Lotus season 1!!!

Our youngest, who has never shown any interest in video games, wants to play the game now. I have a PS3 and a PS4 Pro but no game and the game seems quite expensive on PS4 still :-(

Yep, the show seems to have ballooned the games sales quite a lot keeping the price up and with the PC version hitting alongside the season finale that should do bonanza as well

I ditched Echoes at the end of ep3. Painful acting especially the police officer

Its really good isnt it, the guy who cant touch people or they instantly orgasm had me in stitches with how weird he was, its worth watching just to hear his origin story of how he found out about his power, as it just gets worse and worse.

Watched 5 eps out of 10 of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, the CD Projekt Red spin-off. Visually and stylistically it's great, but a world where practically everyone is a psychotic snuff-porn-addled pervert ready to murder anyone horribly at any moment, which they usually do, is strangely lacking in drama. Whoops-a-daisy, there goes another one...and another one, etc. I'm finding it simply dull and may sack off the last 5.

We watched the final two episodes of The Traitors US (BBC iPlayer).
My son is learning from home today, so we let him stay up a little later to watch the finale.
They edit the endings into absolute cliffhangers!

Completely different set of competitors, so it's not the same as the UK one.

Great TV and a show to watch with someone else as you constantly want to talk about it.

Binged the latest season of Emily in Paris - wow that cliffhanger! This is great bubblegum TV no thought required just sit back and enjoy. Loads of LOL moments for me. Some dodgy acting (I'm looking at you Cammie) but generally it's pretty good. The bloke playing Luc is great.

                                Stranger Things: Season 02
On rewatch this is still the weakest season but is also a lot easier to digest freed from the expectations around it. It was still a mistake to keep Eleven away from the others and like the fourth season there are too many coincidental things at the end to bring it together but generally it's solid. Even the Chicago episode was an easier watch this time out even if it is also still the weakest episode the show has ever put out.
