I didn't mind it but it risked out staying its welcome and it's a little jarring how the films just ignore the series workings too. I'd much rather the series approach was the way forward but the box office for GxK means there's zero chance of that. I'm hoping Monarch S2 is set with new characters at another time, doubtful, but I'm not sure how much gas was left in the tank for the S1 characters.
