The fact that it contains Nathan Barley and Lynn makes me even keener to see it

Still need to see Saint Maud, too.

Censor is one of those films that I want to watch, but don't want to watch.

        Uncharted
I imagine that if you went into this blind then it would be a middling action adventure film. Being familiar with the games does hamper it somewhat more. Chloe is fine in this as are both main villain characters, Holland is likeable but completely and utterly misses the mark as Nathan Drake. Whalberg as Sully... man alive, he plays it as himself in anything else you've seen but even if he weren't in it the characterisation of Sully is largely an utter bastardisation of the character, awful. Half the film is puzzling and adventuring, the other half is lifted from Uncharted 4 with a sprinkle of Uncharted 3 which is also a weird approach. It was passably entertaining but kind of shocking that they spent so many years working on a film this vanilla that opts for a weakly handled incarnation of its world.

If you take the sliding scale of quality of these types of films as being:

Indiana Jones------The Mummy------National Treasure------Tomb Raider------Journey to the Centre of the Earth

Then Uncharted would sit somewhere around Tomb Raider

        Death on the Nile
This is a lot like its predecessor with a very slow first hour, a kind of too easy to work out whodunnit and lots and lots of terrible CG and effects work. When it all gears up for the last 40 minutes though it gets quite decent, not something you'd rewatch but fine enough.

Watched Tom Hanks in Inferno yesterday hoping it was going to be better than the two other 'Da Vinci Code' films - it was not.

            The Green Knight
Could have been called The Padding. A guy accepts a challenge to try and strike a tree guy but one year later the tree guy can strike him the same way. After that set up it's a long dull trudge of journey padding till a last 15 minutes climax. Much like Dune, it's a pretty and well directed film that I felt utterly cold to.

I've had Goodfellas on the shelf for ages and finally sat down and watched it. Amazing as ever. The energy of the film just grabs hold. And my take-away is always how unsustainable the mob life is. I still can't understand how it so massively overshadows Casino though, which is easily as good if not better. And I'd say The Irishman is equal to it too now I've seen it a couple of times ... honestly couldn't choose a fave between them. One thing I will say thought is it is the most underwhelming 4k disc I have ever watched. The image is dark and dreary and the sound is weak and inconsistent. The blu-ray is probably a better bet.

Yeah, the two films I watched after were Back to the Future parts 1 & 2 ... I think it was a much needed double antidote Enjoyable as always. So many great ideas adding to the mix in pt 2.

Still not bought that BttF set!
Don't know if I'll get the newer version or the older set.

Also, could do with being paid...

You might as well get the newer version. I know they cocked the discs up so you need to do a replacement palava, but it's meant to be a much better transfer, and it's only about 15 quid on regular Blu.

4K trilogy set can be had for around £35 at prez

That's decent...tempting, as I've not picked it up myself. I mentioned the regular Blus as I know QC's projector is 1080

You got your order in for the Godfather trilogy yet Atticus? It's day one for me, for sure:

Something I'm looking forward to about it, apart from the opportunity to rewatch parts 1 and 2, is to see Coda. I deliberately held off that last year as it was said that a UHD version would be forthcoming as part as part of the trilogy set this year, which has now turned out to be the case. Looking forward to seeing that and if it improves upon the rather dismal original.

Day one for me too, but no pre-order placed yet as I’m not sure which edition to go for, the classy regular one or the big one full of tat

Can’t wait to watch em though. Love 1 and 2. Still never seen 3 (although the new title gives away a pretty substantial spoiler, heh).

Oh boy. 3 is not great. No idea what Coda is like though. But to be honest I don't hold out much hope as there's only so much you can do with a re-edit.

I'm going to go for the normal one I reckon. Those watercolours in the CE aren't doing it for me - they look like something you'd see on the wall of a pub!

EDIT: Just to add, the new title doesn't really spoil Godfather 3 too much. It's in the vein of the first two in that you're following the arc of his life, this being the concluding arc. It's not a twist or anything. Anyway the film is not great to begin with so I wouldn't worry about it.

The whole trilogy is hitting the cinema next month so could be an opportunity to check out Coda before buying the set

Yeah, I was kidding around a bit, it’s not really a concern

According to hmv the regular edition is 5 discs and the limited edition is 9 discs. It’s not very clear what the extra discs are though … maybe the std Ed presents the films on 4k disc only and the Ltd maybe dual format for the features.

I'm not 100% but I think it's just because the LE contains the ordinary Blus as well. I don't think you get any additional extras but that might be wrong.

As I understand it, the standard edition discs are as follows:

                                Disc 1: Godfather 1 (UHD)
                                Disc 2: Godfather 2 (UHD)
Disc 3: Godfather 3 (theatrical and 1991 cut on the same disc via seamless branching) (UHD)
Disc 4: Godfather 3 (Coda cut) (UHD)
Disc 5: Legacy extras (normal Blu)

And then the LE is the same but you get all the discs, except the Extras disc, on normal Blu as well as UHD. Hence 9 discs rather than 5.

                                @Neon Ignition

Ah interesting. TBH I haven't been arsed to go to the cinema for ages now though...I like my home setup too much, and I'm deffo wanting Godfather 1 and 2 on UHD regardless, so I'll be getting the boxset

Coda is more of a bonus curiosity for me!
