After years Warner Bros has walked away and Universal will now make the adaptation of the musical Wicked for the big screen. In one hell of a massive gamble though they plan to release it as two films a year apart from each other.

Wicked: Part One will release 25 December 2024

Wicked: Part Two will release 25 December 2025

Recent musicals have bombed hard in the last five years so an effort for success on this scale means gravity isn't all Universal will be attempting to defy

It could be a popular effort. Or just something bad.

I've never seen the play, on online comments everyone keeps saying all the good bits and songs will be in part one though which makes a two film effort seem a stretch

New trailer for The Wicked Witch Goes to Hogwarts

Saw this again on its current tour when it came to Birmingham.
I really enjoyed it, even though it relies on most of the other characters being dicks to the lead pair (especially the witch).

Some great songs and plenty of laughs along the way. Hopefully the film will win some new fans who go check out the musical because live theatre hits different to a movie.
