Hercule Poirot III: A Haunting in Venice

Kenneth Branagh is set to return to star in a third Poirot film, this time based on Hallowe'en Party.

For the third film the cast will be made up of Jamie Dornan, Tina Fey, Michelle Yeoh, Jude Hill and Kelly Reilly as well as Emma Laird, Kyle Allen, Camille Cotton, Ali Khan and Riccardo Scamarmico.

    I still haven't watched the first two; they're on Disney+ I think?

Poirot is kinda like the Doctor or Bond; I've never really gotten along with any Poirot that isn't David Suchet.

I don't think I've seen this one, so might try and check it out.
I love a good "You may be wondering why I have gathered you all here..."

I love seeing HP's deduction, rather than the likes of Only Murders where all the clues are just handed to them.

Death on the Nile has some ropey effects and some very... dodgy casting but I enjoyed more of the two they've done so far so hopefully this continues the improvement even if Brannagh seems to be rushing Poirot to his grave

I've not seen any Brannagh ones because I know the twist of Express and I'd literally just seen the '78 Nile on the BBC iPlayer with Peter Ustinov as HP.

So, I do want to see a Brannagh HP, but this is the first where the stars align for me.

Any other decent modern shows like HP?

            THE HERCULE CINEMATIC UNIVERSE!

Remember liking Murder on the Orient Express a fair bit, but comparatively thought that Death on the Nile was a bit crap. The format (which is very clearly the same in both) works just fine for me, but there's so many other bits of story and casting to juggle that can make or break them.

This could be a nice trip to the cinema with the missus to see.

                        I'm looking forward to this!

EDIT: just watched the trailer and they're marketing it like some formulaic horror, of which there are a gazillion other of.
