I still find it bizarre that we have an entry into Eurovision despite being on an entirely different continent on the opposite side of the world

I've never watched the semi-finals before, do the UK get to perform in it even though we're automatically put through? Seems like a disadvantage to get less airplay than most of the other entries

I didn't see it this year, daughter wanted to go but couldn't due to the strikes - cheers RMT, she went to a EV party instead, alas she was hoping the Finn's would win.
