WELCOME TO:
HOLLYWOOD HOT WHEELS: ROUND 11
Eleventh heaven as we continue going through the history of the industries most recognisable vehicles covering all manners of iconic designs from film, tv and gaming, their history and what you think of them.
Each round will see three vehicles lined up for the showcase. Unlike the voting conducted in the other threads, here things are more cutthroat.
You each can only vote for a single design in each round, casting the other two to the scrapheap of Hollywood history.
Make your choice then tell us why you like or don't like each vehicle and why you voted for the one you did.
VEHICLE 031 - Ford Gran Torino
Used by accident, the Starsky and Hutch showrunners intended to use a green Camero but the manufacturer couldn't supply them so they opted for the Gran Torino which was cheaper. Both stars of the show hated it but audiences immediately adored it so it remained in place. As is usual multiple models were used and numerous versions survived the end of the show, coming up at auction for around $40,000 and so owned by an array of people. The car also appeared in the first episode of Dukes of Hazzard, being pitted in a race so the network could make the General Lee look superior. The car was so popular that Ford even issued a public version of the vehicle with over a thousand manufactured. The later movie opted to play it safe, not updating the car at all.

VEHICLE 032 - Black Beauty

Green Hornets car of choice, a 1966 Imperial Crown. The car originally cost $55,000 to customise for the series and was shown as having several switches capable of a number of gadgets. Weaponised with explosive charges and infra-red green headlight lenses, only two were built for the series with both still existing. One resides in a car museum and the other is in private hands. For the movie reboot, the same car design was used but with a wider array of weapons.
Horny for the Hornet?
VEHICLE 033 - Mach Five

The signature car in Speed Racer, an attempt at making a road legal version was made in 2000 but it would be a few years later when the film was produced that an accurate physical car was put together. With jumping jacks under the body and several weapons, to make the signature look of the film the physical car was hoisted up by a crane allowing cameras to pan and swing fully around the vehicle and then CG track built around it.
Bad Egg of the Bunch Or...?
