    Track One

This is a thread to celebrate the absolute bangers that open an album, set the tone and just blow you away

A few of my faves to kick start the awesomeness

    Artic Monkeys

    Led Zeppelin

    Tool

    The Tea Party

      Epic thread.

      Jericho slams in hard.

Bitter sweet symphony is a soaring tune that deserves to be played loud on some decent kit.

Remind Me - I love this album so much. It kicks off well with this DnB anthem, but the range of styles and genres on later tracks is crazy good.

There's something about Castle - it's not my normal listen, but it hit hard and I enjoyed the rest of the album too.

A Hard Day's Night. A perfect start to a perfact album.

Always feel like I'm running into albums that start on a high note but often don't even make it halfway before that goodwill's been squandered. Off the top of my head here's a few I think do a decent job keeping things up for the duration!

No song immediately transports me back to when and where I first heard it like this does.

In terms of setting the tone, this one's pretty spot on.

Also here's a recent(ish) pop one that I think is excellent.

Great suggestions. I'd forgotten how good Audio Slave is and cool vid.

Also, I'm listening on my B&W iems and the difference between YouTube Castle and CD quality Castle is huge. Shocking even.

Hope some of you get some joy from this tune. First track off one of the excellent Koop jazz albums.

Could be seen that way in the context of rap music today, but PUTS dropped the O.S.T. LP back in 2002.
