    Akane-Iro & Toradora:

Akane seems to be basically upskirt shots interspersed with a bit of conversation.

Liking these, deffo will download the second episode

Then again do I need two school anime series at the same time? Oddly enough the school genere is one where I havent really watched much at all, talk about waiting for a bus and then 2 come along ^_^.

Still, at least its not got a main character screaming; POWWWEERRRRRRRR like a cartoon version of Jeremy Clarkson.

    Clannad After Story:

Didnt realise there was a series prior to this, so kind of unconvinced

    Hyakko:

    Still to watch

    Casshern:

    Still to watch

Spice and Wolf second season confirmed!

Only slight worry is they've changed the animation studio and chief character designer but still, it's more s&w.

Unless they did 1 episode per disc for the next 6 volumes, they'd never make a 13 episode series so it's more likely they'll continue doing 3 eps per disc with 8 volumes for a 24 episode series.

        My maths degree in action!

Edit: Did I really just work that out? What have I become?
Well it certainly adds up *ahem*. I still remain to be convinced though particularly with such early listings for the volumes. I'll believe they have 3 episodes when the DVDs are out. Yes, I know... I'm stubborn

Ace news. It seems like almost every sequel series I have on my wish list is being revisited in turn.

Hyakko was decent despite stretching out a single (uneventful) chapter over a full episode.

          Toradora was 'meh'

Seen a bit of the raw of Kemeko Deluxe and it looks awesome. From the Guu and Dokuro-chan director. Looks very high budget and a bit insane

            Yozakura wasn't bad.
Still have Kurogane Line Barrels and Kuro ****suji to watch.

Right, just watched Macross F 25. It confirms that the whole show is a waste. Aside from the visuals (which are awesome, and by that I mean downright ****ing mind-blowingly awesome), everything is either incredibly derivative or just plain rubbish. The dialogue is embarrassing, really.

And FFS, they didn't even have the balls to kill off Sheryl ("oh, look, you're magically healed!") or to even resolve the stupid love triangle!

Also... How the heck do you pour all your feelings and emotions into, and command an entire people to go to war with, bloody sugary pop songs, a genre which is the epitome of empty, soulless, mass-manufactured sub-music!? What's next, a season of Initial D set to Richard Cheese? Grindcore shoujo love stories? Wasting Yoko Kanno on that crap is unforgivable, I stand by my words.

Next up on my list, Daughter of Twenty Faces. Looks like Lupin III with a hint of retro-sci-fi. Should be good.

Clannad AS ep1 - loving it, this type of show was totally missing from last season and its great to see all the characters again (ecspecially suno and kyou).

Casshern Sin ep1 - what a rubbish OP, i could make a better slidshow with mspaint. Good job they spent some cash on the visuals and animation, staying with it for now as there's not much like it.

Xamdou continues to be good and slayers R got a decent ending.

Kannagi - It's avi and it's subbed by Ayako but I had to watch it. I really like this. I thought it was shaping up to be another tsundere rom/com but it's not. Animation is really really well done as expected from some ex-kyoani folks I guess. Only 2 characters so far but Jin seems quite bearable and Nagi puts me in mind of young Horo; especially with that delicious dialect. The OP's really catchy as well with it's dance routine and the ED is suitably nice too. Good start to this series!

Gundam oo S2 ep 1 - Back with a bang. And it made me realize how much of the previous season I'd forgotten about. I didn't watch any of the previews or trailers for this so I didn't realize that for example

Lockon has survived although with no recollection of Celestial Being seemingly. Tieria and Ribbons look as camp as ever. Saji has found out about Setsuna's involvement with those accidents and all sorts of other stuff to take in.

. In any case it's good to see all the familiar faces again. Hopefully GRAHAM plays a bigger part this season. Perfectly timed replacement for Geass R2

Akane-iro ni Somaru Saka - Pleasantly surprised by this but that's probably because I haven't watched a similar type of show for a while. I still don't know whether I want to continue with it though, they rarely ever turn out to be anything but average for me. I got horrible visions of h2o again while watching. It might be fun to see what sort of a trainwreck this will become (or if indeed they can make something good out of it). Cute first episode, I suppose.

edit: hyakko ep 1 - pretty much agreed with Mr Jeff's assessment. Although I didn't have a problem with Hirano Aya in this. I'd probably rank this the lowest of all the stuff I've seen. I'm usually a fan of the slice of life/ very little happening/slow paced shows but the characters in this haven't done it for me so far. I'll give it a few more episodes before deciding. edit: Actually I was just reminded of a bit I liked in the first ep. The first meeting with the teacher and then ensuing scenes. Pretty much came at the end of the episode though which is weird as that should be freshest in my memory...

Darn, that sucks. I'd just watched the first episode and it really looked promising, especially since I'm in some kind of steampunk mood ATM.

On a totally unrelated topic, am I the only one who finds it a shame that almost everything is a softsub these days? I really liked my neatly-typeset hardsubs with appropriate cheesy effects/font shifts and nifty-looking TL notes.

I enjoyed the new Clannad, it was nice to see it back. I'm interested in seeing Casshern as i got the original as a freebie when i bought some manga from Forbidden Planet the other week, so i'll have to watch it now.

Hyakko - well i liked it , as said by jeff it gave me the Manabi Straight vibe in the character personlities and (almost) art. Think i'll be be sticking with it, i don't remember Manabi giving me a crap ton of laughs but i did enjoy it alot, especially the window bit and the follow up as i honestly did not expect them knock him out

Akane-iro ni Somaru Saka - zap i was gonna say it felt like a rerun of Da Capo+Shuffle plot/characters but the H20 ref really nailed the blandness of the art. Still i was surprised the show came up with some laugh out funny moments so im gonna stick with it for now.

Given up on watch Gundam00 tonight, the BBS sub is uber slow. Instead i caught up on Wagaya no Oinari-sama which is entertaining and Kyouran Kazoku Nikki which has this habit of producing one good episode following by a boring one then back to good... anyway the Santa ep was pretty good with santa throwing a Kamehameha with a MMMMMMEEEERRRRRYYYY CHRISTMAS!

also 20 faces ain't bad, it tails of a bit with 20 faces showing up alot in the last couple of eps(ep17-19) but it is to explain what his legacy is and we get the what i assume will be the final big bad(quite lame for last boss but at least his henchkids are ace and his evil plan quite insane).

I really loved Casshern Sins, great animation. The only detraction i can think of is that all the backgrounds are drab and uninventful, but what else can you improve on a post apocalyptic future.
