Buying/Downloading? The licenced stuff on DVD and the unlicenced stuff from animesuki. Although I've also started getting DVDs off mates so I have Ghost in the Shell and Naruto(?) waiting for me.

Film Noir, that is the phrase I was looking for when trying to describe the [WHR] series, it plodded along at just the right pace and the world (especially that bar) was nicely realised.

FMA, that is the series that has me by the gonads at the moment, episode 25 at the moment and I can't wait to watch the next one, havn't had that with any series since 24.

Spot on with the super happy ending, though it does make a change from the usual anime endings and I don?t think I've ever quite seen ending that happy, but having finished Air Tv recently which had quite a downer of ending(enjoyable show though) i was ok with ending, I hope there more Hime to come. Time to download the manga as its suppose to be quite different to the events of the anime.

I love Futakoi Alternative. The first episode is a rollercoaster ride of explosions, carchases and fight scenes wrapped in a cute package.

Futakoi Alternative is nuts, cute girls, guns, cars, explosions, yakuza and the best cop crew since FMPF nutty police women. Best new show so far, it speed grapher in 2nd.

just He's My Master, Erement Gerad, Eye Shield 21 and Tsubasa to watch for me of the currently released new shows, i think theres more but they seem to be the main ones, with Eureka Seven and Trinity Blood at the end of the month.

All right... I've just watched Speed Grapher episode

I watched the 1st episode too.

Some of the animation was great, but it needed a better encode or I need to watch it on DVD, those gradients were terrible in the version I watched.

And that bit when he looked through the window and saw the naughtiness was a bit... strange... Just Japanese?

you have no idea how bad the raw was. The show is being broadcast in low quality analog in japan on a station known for miserable broadcast quality in the first place. Couple that with the japs inability to cap properly (normally not even deinterlacing the RAW avi, and adding unnecessary filters) and you get a piss poor raw.

I'm sure the DVD will be peachy though.


Also, just watched loveless and its pretty decent (watch out its shounen ai). I thought the show on the whole would be terrible but its decent.

Watched bleach 27, great art styles used in the fight and we?re also treated to another new ending(only in animation, not music) looks like we?ll be getting a new ending animation every episode featuring the death god captains and vice captains.

Been reading up on the Beck manga, got vol 20 so far, dam good read and the art alittle odd compared to anime which I kinder prefer to its style over the manga, but it fills in a lot more detail than the anime ever did and seems the better of the two if it wasn?t for the actually music being played in the anime, still it took Koyuki far to long to get

Also, just watched loveless and its pretty decent (watch out its shounen ai). I thought the show on the whole would be terrible but its decent.

Loveless was quite good. I thought that the show had a very strange feel, the fading between scenes, and muted soudtrack added to this alot. I ended up with a odd sense of dislocation from the shows action. I thought that the plot with the fighters was handled well too. It seemed to introduce the magical elements with the right kind of speed to make them interesting and not mess up the tone. looking forward to more from this one. I feel it's instantly better than Tactics was (maybe beacse the Shonen Ai is very up front and not implied)

As for FMA Superkully, If you've not finished it by now the final season is awesome. I remember getting a bit bored with some of the "village of the week" filler in the middle and losing track of it for a few months. Glad I stuck with it though. I've seen some trailres for the follow-up movie, and it seems a bit meh at the moment. I'm sure it will be good though.

i finished vol 21 of Beck, where are the current manga scanners up to and how often is beck released?

beck is out on the 20th of this month as far as i remember... the vol comes out every 4-6months. it runs in gangan monthly, so the option for monthly releases is plausible but I don't have the time to scan it (maybe someone else will?)... and the raws are very rarely uploaded so I doubt anyone will do it.

Had a look at Tsubasa Chronicle... Man, it's amazing how instantly recognizable Yuki Kajiura's music is. The anime itself looks interesting, I'll keep watching. Though the end of the episode feels like the beginning of a tabletop RPG campaign, where the GM has to come up with a reason for the characters to meet...

Anyway, I've read that all the characters somehow come from other manga by CLAMP? Not having read any of those, am I missing things?

not really, as most of the characters are only similar in appearance and demeanor not in their storyline, obviously it would add to the enjoyment but its not neccessary apart from xxxholic which runs parallel to tsubasa, and with them being very much intertwined storywise it would be a good choice if you want an accompaniment.

Naruto?s new opening, i like the animation but the new song isn't up to scratch, but it might grow on me as I like the chorus, the new ending better than the last in music and animation but its no Viva Rock or that crazy flying naruto face one.
