so far just Saiga and Nose-boy

Speaking of which, is it Nose-boy or Nose-girl? Nose-bishie, for lack of a better name, is one of the most androgynous characters I've ever seen, and this comes from a guy who read all of Angel Sanctuary.

So far the ones i've dropped Law of Ueki, Loveless, and baslisk(it really did turn very **** after the 1st fight, crapper than Ninja Scroll type anime could ever be) and im close to giving up on He is my Master and Tsubasa.

Yeah, I'm dropping Basilisk as well -- chara design is far too visually offensive for my taste. Dhalsim/Alien old guy, Spider-dude and Fatboy Fat were already cringeworthy.
But the appearance of Snake-boy just had me hang my head in shame (especially with the quote "That face... You must be [whatever his name is]!" -- apparently, in medieval Japan, ninjas without arms or legs are such a common sight that you have to rely on facial features for their identification).

If Aquarion doesn't get any better by the next episode, I'll be dropping it as well. Pretentious super robot yaoi anime where dickless male characters run around naked and the solution to winning a fight is to remove your shoes just doesn't cut it for me.



The good series I'm watching at the moment? Speed Grapher, Bleach, Naruto and Negima. And the odd episode of Tsubasa Chronicle, too, but that one is at best average.

I couldn't get through the 2nd episode of Aquarion, dumped it 5 mins in, i couldn't take any more of that lead character COOL/RADICAL ways and such a crap story. To bad, i kinder enjoyed the fights at least...

At least there a wealth of other older animes are still going or finished but need subbing to the final episode thank god.

Bleach is amazing, I finally started watching from the start and I am totally in love with it
I just wish someone would hurry the **** up and license it, I'd love to see some R1s out before the end of the year

Are shows like Naruto and One Peice worth watching at this late stage? I haven't watched a single episode of either-it may be a bit much for me to take on

If you like Bleach you?ll like Naruto and One Piece, just replace deathgods with Ninja or Pirates. Naruto animes worth watching just for the first 20 episodes so you get to watch the whole of the Wave country arc and you'll be hooked.

As for One Piece it?s anime pales next to its manga as the animation and pacing let it down a bit in parts(specially anime only arcs and none major fights), but it definitely worth picking it up after reading the manga for the key parts like Arlong Park or Don krieg Fight.

I'd say go for it. I've been hooked on Bleach, Naruto and Eyeshield21 my self. I watched Naruto first(haven't seen them all yet, currently up to ep 99) and fell in love with it after the first episode. There are some fairly valid complaints that can be made about the anime such as the amount of flashbacks/lack of action/lack of plot/fights dragging on for too long in some episodes. But in all honesty I haven't enjoyed watching an anime as much since I watched Nadesico in it's entirety a couple of years back. There's only really one episode that annoyed me and that was the one with flashbacks right from the start of the anime which lasted for over half the show, apart from that I've enjoyed all the episodes. It's similar to Bleach in a way(although Bleach definitely has far fewer flashbacks than the first 30 eps of Naruto) in that it has a nice mix of comedy, drama and action. There's some spectacular fights, especially during the Chuunin exams IMO.

I've also just started watching a few episodes(up to episode 6) of Full Metal Alchemist and it's superb. I love the opening and closing songs, which are usually hit and miss for me in some of the animes I've seen. Although I thought the songs in Naruto season 2 were ace especially the opening song.

In other news, the last Gundam Seed R1 DVD was released today, so I bought it, and just finished watching it.

I think the words, "Holy f***", pretty much sum it up.

(okay, now I'm off to download the 10 episodes of Destiny I haven't watched yet ^^)

Although i've only been watching Naruto for the past few days I highly recommend it so far.
I've just finished watching episode 50 (Chuunin Exams) and I'm happy to say i'm hooked.
I discovered i was hooked on Monday night when i decided to watch an episode at 9pm whilst I was eating my dinner, next thing I know it's 3am and i'm frantically trying to open the next episode in as little time as possible.
I hope the series doesn't slow down too much after the Chuunin exams as the past few episodes (flashbacks aside) have been great.

Well, a sad moment has occured in my life.

I have caught up with Naruto

Started watching the fan subs late last year but I had difficulty playing back episode 82 so stopped. However couple of weeks back I learned it was a codec problem and so continued to download and watch them.

The break actually came at a good time. I was getting close to the live episodes and a major arc in the series had just finished with the next barely begun. The break meant that I could get 6 months worths of episodes to build up.

The arc with Jiraiya and Naruto

searching for Tsunade and Naruto learning the Rasengan

was enjoyable, particularly the relationship between the both of them. At first I was disappointed that Kakashi seemed to hand Naruto over to 'perverted hermit' but have since discovered that Jiraiya rocks.

However it has been this most recent arc which started in ep 107 (

Sasuke vs Naruto)

that led to me catching up sooner than planned. Previously I was able to limit it to 2-3 eps a day but I was desperate to find out what happened next with this part of the series and I went from 205-230 in 2 days. Some kickass moments throughout the arc but special mention has to go:

Neji vs spider dude-thingie (hated Neji after Chuunin exam but I really came to appreciate how damn good he is throughout this story. Was sad to see him die
Rock Lee using Drunken Fist (how ****ing cool? Animation in that was fantastic)
Return of the Ninjas of the Sand (fanboy excitment mode when that occurred )

But having over 2 years of eps in one go has spoiled me. A cliffhanger didn't matter as the next episode was right there for me to find out what happened next. The thought of having to wait at least a week to find out what happens next is going to be painful. How do you guys do it?

i recommend Bleach(31eps subbed so far, still going) or One Piece(143 quality ep subbed so far of 230 odd eps and it's still going), for naruto like shows.

I try and wait until the series is complete before dl'ing them. However GITS 2 has proven too difficult. After i've caught up with that i'm going to watch the JOJO Bizarre Adventure OVA. Not sure if its the first or second series though.

Hate my download speed at the minute though. Takes 25mins to download a whole episode. I find I can sit and just watch a whole series in a couple of days. Sleep is for pussies

Just finished catching up on Gundam Seed Destiny, and the last few episodes (esp. 28) deserve a "Holy f***" too. Seed wasn't particularly sparing for its main characters, especially toward the end, but *this* is a massacre. I'm speechless.

Also, this is probably due to my having many parts of both series in rapid succession, but the animation sequence for

the explosion of Flay's dad's ship (you know the one: big Earth Forces ship in space with 2 Gottfried holes in the middle, explodes as two GINNs escape in the background)

is starting to feel like it's Gundam Seed's Wilhelm scream.
I haven't counted, but it must have been re-used about 50 times by now. The very first time I saw it

(in Seed, when the exploding ship actually contained Flay's father)

, I felt the sadness and emotional distress of the character. Last time I saw it (somewhere in Destiny ep. 28 or 29), I nearly burst out laughing. Guys, this sequence has produced a colossal return on investment. Perhaps it's time to retire it now.



Oh, and is it me, or does the latest opening contain the mostest hugestest (quadruple superlative, beat that baby) spoiler ever?

Still far to many Flashback episodes so far, i can count 3 in 29 eps(i think)

Just watched GITS:SAC 2 ep 12 and....wow! that was a great episode. The whole storyline just sped up so fast.
