Yeah... However, Stelvia has a point. The way Impulse is built means that there are only 2 ways to get rid of it: 1. Destroy the core; and 2. Keep whacking it until its mothership runs out of replacement parts. Kira should have realized from the very beginning that his usual "I don't wanna kill anyone" fighting style couldn't work against it... He had it coming.

Besides, he didn't take advantage of the huge window of opportunity when Impulse switches silhouettes (wherein its PS armor is down and its only weapons are Ye Olde Armor Schneiders), made no attempt at destroying the AWACS (which is the first think I'd have done -- in *any* battle, making your enemy blind and deaf has the highest priority), and... Well, when you're dumb enough to keep pulling your punches against an enemy that 1. Is not significantly weaker than you, 2. Is serious about it, and 3. *Can't* be incapacitated in this way, you deserve everything that's coming at you.

Not to mention that in this battle's conditions (vastly outnumbered, and only defender of his ship), going nonlethal was a luxury he couldn't afford anyway. He was jeopardizing not only his own life, but also that of Archangel's crew (fortunately, she has a kickass helmsman who, unlike him, does know his job).

The funny thing is, even though I think Kira was dumb on this one, he's still a character I like -- in fact, I quite like the whole Archangel crew (incl. Athrun and Dearka). On the other hand, I can't bring myself to empathize with the dudes on Minerva. Well, Lunamaria is cool, okay. But Rey is at best soulless (he's got the voice and probably half the genes of Le Creuset, but none of his charisma), and I can't stand Shinn. He's a cocky, cowardly, egotistical spoiled brat who blames others for his own mistakes (after all, he is the one who brought Stellar back to the Earth Alliance, landed a critical hit on her cockpit *and* put himself right before her heavy beam cannon, thus forcing Kira to intervene and save his life by killing her) and then "solves" the problems he creates through the application of excessive and unjustified violence. I reckon he deserves a good ol' spanking.

The problem, of course, is that those two are supposed to be this show's heroes. Yet so far, thanks to relativity, they've only made me like Athrun and Kira better (just like every appearance of Meer Campbell makes me positively adore Lacus -- a character I absolutely hated for most of Seed, although she gained my respect by the end of it). Now with Lunamaria wounded and Kira dead (or at the very least without a MS -- but I unfortunately have little faith in his being nuclear-resistant), we're only gonna see more of those two. Well, at least there's still Athrun.

On the good side of things, Dullindal (I'm still persuaded his name is supposed to be Durandal, but I digress) seems to have become quite shady. The (political) plot thickens, and it seems that sometime in the next episodes we're gonna be told why ZAFT tried to assassinate Lacus. And for that matter, why the hell they're actively trying to sink Archangel.

But ****, I still can't believe they killed Kira.

In other news, that's not strictly anime and you Brits probably won't care unless you understand French (anyone fancy doing a fansub? I can translate...), but I'm extremely happy because Bitoman episode 14 was finally released. Otaku Senshi Bitoman, for a little bit of background, is the oldest (and IMHO funniest) French amateur superhero parody series. It's the one that, back in 1994, spurred the genre into existence -- AFAIK, such series don't exist outside of France.

Episode 14 may not be as funny as episode 12 (and it's got computer-generated special effects -- the shame!), but it's still a riot. I'm happy.

to the above(to much to quote)

I was thinking that AWACS should have been done 1st, it wasn?t to far away from the battle so they should have been able to pick it up, and I think during the 2 cores changes(3rd change was just a weapon?s grab and not full switch) shinn ejects the 1st core into kira to buy time for the 2nd core switch. I don?t think Kira dead, we didn?t get a eye shield break in the helmet and Kira?s survived a worse attacks than that(Athrun?s self detention of his Gundam in Seed). Well I hope this at least opens up Athrun to take a driver?s seat after while of doing sod all.

Definitely, Kira's 'death' was far too abrupt for such a popular character and with Destiny's ratings right now, they simply can't afford to turn popular characters into cannon fodder. If you notice in the opening and ending sequence, it's not the same Freedom we just saw getting destroyed since it has additional parts. In Gundam, it's taken as a general rule that when a Gundam is destroyed, it will receive either an upgrade or a major overhaul.

Indeed, it'd be stupid to kill the show's most popular character. Also, it seems that Shinn wasn't going for the cockpit either. However, Kira hasn't survived worse than that: Strike and Aegis were standard battery-powered Gundams. Freedom is not. The way I understood it, Shinn hit its main power code, producing the big-ass nuclear blast we saw.

that blast we we saw wasn't Freedom but the towzer cannon hitting either the archangel or the water, if you go back and watch anytime that weapon is fired on the ground there's huge ass explosion.

Bleach 36 is sick, and the juicyness has only just begun judging from the manga. There will be quite a few wicked fights in the next few episodes

On another note, I've grown tired of waiting for Eyeshield 21 fansubs, I'm DL'ing raws now I NEED my fix now!

btw, does anyone know if 3rd stage, battle stage and fourth stage have been licensed yet? AFAIK Tokyopop only have 1st, 2nd and extra stage and won't be licensing the rest

Just saw the last two episodes of 4th stage and even raw, they pack a mighty punch.

As depicted in the manga, the FD gets royally ****ed up when Project D's opponents decide to leave a huge oil slick on the road as a trap for Keisuke. He spins out and hits the guard rail which totally screws over the suspension column on the left side of the car, causing him to spin out even after temporary repairs.

I wonder how long it'll be until 5th stage is announced...

How are you guys getting these so quickly? I only seem to get speeds of 5-10k per torrent, however healthy they are
The only way I can consistently max out my connection is by running lots of torrents at a time
