i finally got around to downloading all of Gantz's manga and all i can is 'Its the most brilliant thing i have ever read' it goes so much further that what the 1st season would suggest its unbelieveable, and i can not wait to see it fully animated and Uncut, it would be the best anime of all time just for the 3rd mission alone, let alone the brilliance of 4th and 5th missions, 1-14vol's of complete awsomness done, i'm gonna save the next ones for tomorrow.

Just wanted to raise a query here, thought it might be the best place....

Being the fan of the arc the lad series, I've been meaning to obtain the complete 26 episodes of the anime that runs along side the original games.

After some digging, I've noticed the RRP for the box set is about $80 (?40 ish). Bit more than what I wanted to pay, but I've come across a large amount of copies of it floating around on ebay on prices ranging from about $50 right down to $20. After reading feedback, some of these were infact bootlegs, but one UK seller has the set for ?17, and based on his feedback, his only negative feedback isn't based on supplying someone with a knockoff. Before I decide whether or not to buy it, does anyone own a genuine copy of the set? As far as I know, the front of the box shows Arc and Elk I think it is on a red background. Anything else I should look out for? I could probably get some photos from the guy to show me exactly what I'm buying.

Yeah, DVD Pacific are great. The vast majority of my DVDs are bought from them. The only thing to note is that with an item of that value you are fairly likely to be hit by customs as they mark the full value on the package. They used to mark down values until they received threats from HMCE.

Seems to be a pretty good seller (perfect feedback) and the collection claims to be region 1. Since I can usually persuade most ebay sellers to mark items as "gift", would I be better off going for this than dvdpacific?

DVDpacific are good, they ship quickly and reply to emails quickly too and I've found they are the cheapest for most R1 anime. They won't mark down packages though, otherwise they would be perfect.

I couldn't believe gantz sent them all to kill Tae, i just knew we're in for rough ride and i was really saddened by Tae death and waddling walk towards Kei as she starting dying, really, really top stuff. Now we have the situation he can get his important people back from the dead, but with that slimmest of hope they all end up in another seeming bad Budda like mission and i think the chances of anyone but Kei surviving organised Killer aliens and now vampires

Does Gantz's quality hold up well through the series? I only have volume 1 with the collectors box atm and really enjoyed the 2 episodes. Thats right, 2 eps per DVD ADV are arses, that said they come out twice as frequently as most other releases i.e. pretty much once a month and they are only $10-11 apeice from dvdpacific

as far as i know, gantz anime and gantz manga take diffirent directions after the budda mission, but then i stopped watching gantz TV cut episodes after the 1st season (1-11eps) and then got wind of the uncut dvd releases being subbed and watch all that(1-13eps, yep thats right there's enough cut to fill 2 eps), which is million times better than the cut stuff, i don't think the 2nd season's been release on dvd yet in japan, as for eps 2 dvd that exactly how the japanese releases are so it sounds like they'll be the uncut version too.

all i can say it that the budda mission(3rd mission) is top quality and should be heart wrenching to watch animated, let alone all the stuff that comes after it, although god know's where the anime's going with it's filler missions, its not like it needs it as the releases are dead slow anyway and the manga is miles ahead.
