Im glad F1 is going back to BBC. They used to do it very well. Yes times moved on and car cams etc.. got better but the old Murray (before he started making mistakes all the time) and BBC with F1 was fantastic. I also liked it when it moved to ITV and Dracula and Tony used to be in the studio box at a race having people interviewed up their (like Bernie, Buttons dad and on). Since they both got kicked into touch for no charisma Steve and I ate all the pies while driving a F1 car Mark coverage that way is non existent. We hardly see them and they just stand outside Mclarens pit as yes men.
I also find the commentary totally biased to what it used to be. Its just all Mclaren, why cant we get another team spoken to. Why do they insist on not going anywhere near Hamilton before a race (live) when other drivers endure it all the time. I really used to have time for Brundle, really liked the bloke but for me he just seems to becoming more snardy as times gone on. He has alot of ties with Mclaren anyway with being involved with Coulthards career etc.. but the last year he seems to be all Mclarens biased and thats it. Where is the old Martin what would fight to get down the grid to interview them? I noticed on the last race he didnt even bother going any further than the 8th person on the grid. He ran past Mclarens guys, never bothered to go near the man that has won CART over and over and never bothered to speak to him or tried to at least wind Kimi up for being low down. Lewis was coming down the pits and he never went near him. I think he has been surpassed as well for commentating, just in general his lack of passion seems to have gone.
In a word the pre race has gone crap and be glad for it to switch. Its no wonder its getting pulled from ITV anyway, Bernie got sick of em cutting it short or even not showing some of them on ITV due to corrie (get sick of watching a race and not seeing the guys on podium) and Ive noticed qual a fair few times being shoved to ITV2 which is wrong.
Whether hamster likes F1 or not I think he would be great for it, even if he just presents it. Lets face it he has to know more about it then chuffing Steve Ryder. Fingers crossed for BBC HDLast edited by Guest; 21-03-2008, 18:54.
