The race was ****e but at lest Fernando showed them who is boss. I think that win was important for Renault. Had they lost to Ferrari it could've indicated a shift in the power balance but they proved that they still have the pace to beat the rest.

Monaco may be dull but qualy will be interesting this year.

What was with Alonso's Monkey impressions when he was celebrating on his car? Looked a bit daft, was there any significance?

He's just a little bit fruity, at least it wasn't the limp wristed 'bird' version this time... honestly someone needs to explain to him what he looks like doing that stuff up on the podium!

See Rossi is staying on two wheels for at least the time being

he has had a really tough 2006 so far, really hope he bounces back, his talent is so much bigger than Hayden and Co it would be a crime for him not to win the championship.

This weekend, for the first time since 1997, I am MISSING A RACE!

I'll be up in Doncaster and likely be driving back when the race is on. I'll be watching the quali then race back to back sunday evening.

Me too, going to watch the mountain bike world cup at fort william on Sunday. Qualifying may be the best part of this weekend anyway.

So annoyed they don't show replays of qualifying in the evening. Havent been able to watch one qualifying session so far

Yep qualy should be good, no make that great. In fact it could Golden Boy's best chance of a win this season, assuming that Honda can run light enough to get him on pole.

                    Groans......

Don't you lot have videos/dvd recorders?

Quali has been majorly hyped for Monaco, hopefully it will be a good eventful one. Button will have to do something really special and get a bit of luck to get on pole and that's his only way of winning the race I think. Would be nice though if he can do it as it would certainly set the race up to be a good one.

Rossi staying on bikes is right, it all felt a bit like a marketing exercise to me anyway. He is having very bad luck this season but I'm sure he'll start stringing it all back together soon enough. As he's staying he could scrap this year and go to Honda/Ducati next year and win the championship with them.

                        What's with MSC's new suit? It's a bit camp.

Also, Red Bull did Star Wars livery last year at Monaco, this year it's Superman! First person to post a picture of the car supermanned up wins a prize - I can't find one

Quali is live at 12:30 ITV1 tomorrow, hopefully as good as all the hype suggests.

Ruebens seems to have 'swapped' helmets with good mate Tony Kanaan this weekend as well, odd, what's the point in that?

Dunno, but oddly there's a wikipedia entry for it under Tony Kanaan... it hasn't even happened yet!

He is good friend of Brazilian Formula One driver Rubens Barrichello, and they exchanged helmets for the events in May 28, 2006. Barrichello wears Kanaan's helmet livery during Monaco GP and Kanaan wears Rubens's one during Indy 500.

What was Schumi doing at La Rascasse? I don't want to believe that he parked it but the on board footage showed that he could've made it round so why the stall? Fernando was going to be on pole according to the sector times, so is understandably pissed. Apparently all of the the teams (bar Red Bull) have lodged complaints and MS is currently under investigation by the stewards. This could get ugly.

It did look a bit convenient, Alonso iss 99.9% sure to beat him to the first corner anyway. Well done to Webber, came from nowhere, must be very light on fuel. Should be an interesting race as can see half a dozen people or so being on a one stop strategy.
