My new daughter was born last night. I somehow figured the first night home with her would be easier than with my first. Not so. I've finally got her to sleep on my lap while I browse the net on my iPod touch.

When is it my turn to sleep?

Yeah, I heard that many parents expect it to be a breeze with the second, but as a mate told me when he heard my wife was expecting,

"Go home. Now! Go home and start sleeping, as you sure as hell won't once the baby is born."

Yeah, I have to admit, while I didn't expect it to be a breeze, I did expect it to be much easier and it was most of the day until it kicked off about 1 in the morning.

Never again. I love kids but the newborn stage sucks. They come to life about 6 months old and that's when it actually gets fun. I'm looking forward to that.
