Cool picture. how did you do it?

Like the last of the 3 above. The first one has just a little too much out of focus in the foreground but great angle!

        Boris,

Were you using the kit lens for the dawn photo on your 400D?

8 second exposure, lights out. Used a pen I got at a 99p Shop that lights up and slowly strobes between different colours. Traced around the Rubik's Cube then used the tip to make some squiggles in the background. Lots of fun when you can't sleep

I agree, was the first time I had tried putting the camera on the ground, trying to get out of my comfort zone and look like a nut to those around me. I wonder if the fat guy knew I was waiting for him to walk close enough to be in the picture >_<

Great landscape shot spag, i like the way it's on an angle and the darkness of the water contrast the sky. Awesome light pen shots as well. 99p shops FTW indeed

I hear ya there mate. I can get incredibly self-concious when I am out with my camera and rarely do anything other than snap shots if its busy or if people are looking. Not such a big deal out in the fields looking for insects. Anyone else here get a bit uncomfortable when the camera is out in a public place?

The pen is nice, but there are only so many things you can waggle it around tbh...

Great thing is you can use any light source as long as you limit how much light is getting into the camera. Made a light stencile out of a pizza box.

                  Booze + Boredom =

Your pictures are depressingly amazing as usual mate

Got my first bit of "attitude" this morning. Was on a public road taking photos of various things and took some pictures of some fudge - from a fair distance, was using a 200mm lens.

Got some agro from the woman.

Politely informed her that I wasn't taking photos for commercial reasons, was in a public place and legally entitled to take photos. I don't think she actually expected a polite "educated" reply and was a bit taken aback.

I moved along anyway - couldn't see any point creating aggravation. And more importantly - I'd done

What was fudge doing on a public road?

Friend of mine asked me to take some photos of his band rehearsing (the light wasn't great but the band liked the results):

Thanks funkydan - no he's not my kid. He's the son of one of my oldest friends - very photogenic.

Took a few more today. Mostly portraits of friends.
