An amended version of the deal has been signed. In this version Ukraine doesn't repay the money the US has given to it and instead the US recieves money moving forward with a proportion of the earnings being used by Ukraine to fund its own defence rather than the US giving it anything else additional. Ukraine will get to keep the infrastructure created.
The question will be how long this takes to kick in and if they send in US workers quickly to try to get the deal enacted, will it have an impact on Russia's approach to the war given the increased risk of striking American targets?
Trump believes he's made zero mistakes in his first 100 days. The economic black eye the US took in its last quarter results yesterday is nothing compared to the one in three months time as within the next few weeks the impact of the tariffs will begin to fully kick in on trade.Comment

The whole minerals thing is a vanity project/propaganda. Firstly, Ukraine doesn’t have many “rare earths” (as has been frequently misreported) and secondly all the minerals have to go through processing in… China. Until that changes, there is no great dividend.Comment

RE: the tariffs, I think it's because most Americans who like Trump don't think the tarriffs will affect them.
It's just like we saw recently on Reddit when the subreddits for emulation gaming **** a collective brick because they realised ANBERNIC and Retroid were no longer shipping to the USA for tarriff related reasons. What did you think was going to happen?Comment
