Globalism was doing a pretty good job at making nations depend on each other, so much so that a full-on war was unthinkable because you're bombing the country that makes your rice, or your trainers, or your microchips.
But then we have things like Brexit come along and they show that despite all that, people can still willfully just punch themselves in the face. Now the US is basically bringing back protectionism and it's all starting to fall apart.

So the NYT is reporting that Trump is going to announce a "deal" with the UK tomorrow—except the deal won't even get rid of the 10% tariffs on the UK lmao Looks like a reduction in the tariffs on British cars in exchange for the UK lowering taxes on digital services like Google [contains quote post or other embedded content]
Looks like the deal will just be a PR stunt that hasn't even gone through or been cleared by Congress
