U.S. President Donald Trump said on Thursday that larger tariffs could be placed on the European Union and Canada if they both work together 'to do economic harm to the USA.'

A few weeks ago UAW celebrated Trumps arrival and plans for Steel Tariffs

      Today:
United Auto Workers leaders say they were blindsided by the announcement of layoffs at Cleveland-Cliffs Dearborn Works, a plant that supplies steel for the auto industry.

Has there ever been a US president with so much negativity and straight up WTF statements as this Asshat?
I sure as hell can think of any which were as bad as this. Fair enough, I can only really go back as far as Ronald Reigan.

It seems the only way Trumps goes about conducting a discussion, argument or decision is attack.

His simple black or white plan is to slap a 25% tariff on it. But when the opposing side or country responds with exactly the same, he was quoted a few days ago, as saying he'll respond to any country attacking the US with similar tariffs. What the **** is this, Simon says?

I remember growing up as a kid and looking to the US as such an exciting and amazing place to be; From the culture, products, music, film, fashion, people it was all so larger than life and exciting. What a ****ing state not just the US is in, but the world.

But the world always bounces back. I'm sure if I was in my 40's in the early 90's and seeing the Gulf War, race riots, crime etc, it would look just as ****. I'm a bit of an optimist and when a country has finally had enough, changes occur. It may take awhile and the general population are slow to react, but good things always come from dark.

Exactly this, Wools. We're all massively influenced by American culture and have an affinity whether we like it or not from years of their media in our lives.
However, this presidency has made me actively reassess that.

I've said elsewhere that me and a couple of mates have been planning a stateside roadtrip for our 50th birthdays, but we've totally abandoned that idea. Not only for the hostile reaction to tourists since Trump returned, but also don't think I want to be in a country where the majority of people not only voted for him, but still actively support him. I'd probably get shot.

Hearing the news of more tariffs, this time on cars, made me wonder how much American products I can avoid.
This tariff is even sillier when you realise it's also on components, so most American-made cars still use parts made in Canada and Mexico, so American cars will increase in price too when the manufacturers have to pass on the price hikes.

This whole Signal chat has been astonishing, not only for the content, especially the anti-European sentiment shared on it, but their reaction to it by going on the offence, criticising the credibility of the journalist and his publication, rather than admitting their errors.

Look how they handle valid questioning over the event from Sky News US correspondent Martha Kelner.
It's worth noting that Marjorie Taylor Greene is married to the "wHy ArEn'T yOu wEaRiNg A sUiT?" guy.

That is astonishing. "Go back to your own country where all the women are being raped by migrants and sort that out" and "It was all Biden's fault"
How is she allowed to be interviewed by anyone?

Scary news about that Myanmar earthquake that caused a building under construction to collapse in Bangkok. About 40 workers missing, 3 deaths last time I checked but it went down like 9/11 so it’ll get a lot worse. The specific details aren’t being widely reported, but the building was literally around the corner from Bangsue Shopping Centre and antiques market. I was in there a few weeks ago looking at old games. You could see the site from where I was having a coffee, it’s probably in some of the photos on my camera.

*Asks Wife if she's been raped by Migrants recently* She's said she hasn't.

*My inner monologue asks myself if I've been stabbed recently* It says I haven't.

In a country that sadly has mass shootings every day, it's amazing she has the gall to push back on a question asked by a journalist in such a way.

Although I feel she has so much anger and fright in her body, if you gave her a hug for more than 10 seconds while whispering "It's okay, you're going to be okay" in her ear, she would start bursting our crying.

I honestly would be impressed to see anyone make a case for any prior President to come close to being as bad as Trump is at the job. He was already title holder from his previous term but freed of having any actual Republican politicians in the room to try and moderate some of his excesses this second term is essentially validation of that view that he's uncontestedly awful.

I really love and miss being in the US, it was a rare thing to have a preconcieved image of a place in your head and then when you finally get to go there it immediate meet that fantasy.

The trouble is that the current state of the US is entirely of Trumps own making. At no point has he pursued the Presidency out of holding any interest in the state of the nation and the trouble with whipping up existing frustration within the populace is that there eventually comes a breaking point. The issues of the red state ecomomies in the US aren't anything special, much like all the mining towns in the UK that are now decaying into boarding up shop windows, they're tied to a world that is gone and isn't going to come back. Politicians have made the mistake of ignoring those issues in place of focusing on the overall national picture which often looks rosier.

Trump rode much of his first term being propelled by Obama's decisions, and tied by COVID and the systems in place. The real issue now is that he's completely unrestrained, incredibly fragile in ego and has unparalled power.

The thing that he is at risk of though is that it means that for that angry, whipped up and frustrated voter base there are going to be no more excuses. They might have struggled with the cost of living before but Trump is taking things in such a dire direction so fast that they're literally going to lose their homes, have loved ones die etc and there's no-one else to blame because these are all very pointed Trump decisions that cannot be mistaken as things Democrats would do. He is so caught up in the idea that most of the country loves him when that's not the case, it's around 30-35% and it's because they don't feel personally burnt by him yet.

There's a very solid risk that one way or another Trumps presidency ends in bloodshed. He can harbour all the dictatorship ambitions that he wants, the American people are not at all raised with the same mindset as those in the nations Trump idolises and it'll be to his demise to mistake the two.

As painful as it is on the rest of the world, matching him move for move really is the way forward. America is genuinely going to have to break to snap itself out of the fevered dream Republican voters are under. Like Musk, Farage, Johnson etc - they're good at being gobby and spouting right wing populist nonsense and literally that's all they bring to the table. It's been explained to voters in many countries again and again and again that these are conmen but we're at the point where learning the hard way looks to be the only way through.

If you're a Trump supporter - Based on the past 8 weeks I don't see how your life isn't going to be utterly devastated by what's coming to America in the next 3+ years. Not to mention, if things really go to hell in a handcart by late this year there will be eruptions if Trumps support seems unusually strong in the mid-terms.

She doesn't have the intellect for the position she holds. Is she just let loose to divert bad press by being herself, unhinged?

Oliver Stone said quite recently (before Trump’s reelection) that George W Bush is still the worst president. My American friend says he’s an idiot.

Yet another example where people would be best advised to stop filming, put their phones away and run. They’re going to have inhaled a huge amount of filthy dust filming that go down.

Trump is still plugging away at owning Greenland:
"We need Greenland for national security and international security.
So we'll-- I think we'll go as far as we have to go.
We need Greenland, and the world needs us to have Greenland, including Denmark. Denmark has to have us have Greenland"
                              (Actual quote)

At first, JD Vance's wife was coming to watch a dog sled race.
However, she was travelling with national security advisor Mike Walz.
Oh and around 100 secret service agents, so they're not at all checking out Greenland's security ready to annex it.

Then JD Vance announced he was coming too.
Not sure if he's worried about Walz getting it on with his wife, but if Walz is sexting her, he'll probably add JD to the Signal chat by mistake.

However, none of them have been invited by Denmark or Greenland and a recent poll has said that 85% of Greenlanders say they don't want to be part of the US, so they've scaled the visit back to just going to a military outpost.

Even Putin has warned the US not to try and take over the region.
