Gotta love the Republicans being at the peak of their powers and somehow the Democrats are still supposed to wield enough leverage to be rigging elections.
Yes - because it totally wouldn't be a reflection of incredible weakness of Trump that he couldn't prevent that rigging. Also an incredible act of moronicness from the Democrats that they could steal the Wisconsin vote but not the Presidential Election one
Everything makes sense viewed through the minds lens of seeing MAGA's speak from this voice:

Trump has set 54% tarriffs on China
A 25% tariff has been placed on all imported canned beers and empty aluminium tins
Britain gets off comparatively lightly but US president’s action could still cost billions in lost growth
The 10% tariffs on the UK are the lightest imposed on nations but enough that the UK car making industry is expected to start mass layoffs and closures in the near future

The Whitehouse has said the claims of Musk stepping away from Government duties is "Garbage."
Did you see him whining on Fox news after Tim Walz made fun of him for tanking Tesla share prices? This is what he said:
"I mean, you had Tim Walz, who's a huge jerk, you know, running around on stage with a Tesla stock price, having -- where the stock price had gone in half.
And he was overjoyed. What an evil thing to do.What a creep. What a jerk. Like, who derives joy from that?"
Erm, maybe the kinda guy that likes walking on stage brandishing a chainsaw to gloat about how you're cutting medicinal aid, support for veterans and social security.
As for the Trump tariffs, what a joke. Romping up to the podium with claims that America has been "raped" by foreign tariffs. Takes one to know one, I guess.
Apparently, they were working on the tariffs until late into the night. Nothing like being prepared...
Already people are looking to buy non-American products.
I'm already exclusively an Irn-Bru drinker, but I'm considering swapping Nike for Slazenger on my next trainers.
If you're looking for European alternatives to American products, check these out:

Trump doesn't understand that import VAT isn't a Tariff (because the US doesn't have VAT). It's the total opposite of a universal tariff. It's cascading through the supply chain but only really paid at the point of sale.
When he says they were working into the night, what they actually did was get the ratio of US exports to country X's vs the other way around and apply the tariff based on that. It probably took ten minutes to come up with the values. Plus set a 10% minimum. Somehow with a dream that this will suddenly make country X buy lots of American stuff. Although with USD tanking, that might actually start happening a bit. But lets say it works.... does this mean that they have to constantly adjust the tariffs according to that ratio?Last edited by charlesr; 03-04-2025, 08:44.

The move is announced hours after Israel's PM, who is sought under an ICC arrest warrant, arrives in Budapest for a state visit.
The rate at which the planet is warming has sped up since 2010, and now researchers say that China's efforts to clean up air pollution are inadvertently responsible for the majority of this extra warming
The Nikkei stock index plunges nearly 3 percent, closing at an eight-month low as fears of a global economic slowdown intensified following U.S. President Donald Trump's announcement of reciprocal tariffs.
Donald Trump just put a 10 percent tariff on the Heard Island and McDonald, which has a population of zero people and is inhabited only by penguins.

Here’s why uninhabited islands have tariffs. The White House is even more stupid than you imagined. Tariffs have not been done by country, but by top-level internet domain. So Heard & McDonald Islands (.hm) is a different tariff to Australia (.au), so the penguins were classified as exporters.
