Every week of his term feels like it's being lived in dog years, so much comes up. This is why his appeal, given he's such a known factor at this point, is hard to swallow. Even if he came up with a geniunely great idea - he lacks any and all conviction to see it through, if he came up with it at breakfast he'd be doing the opposite by lunch. Viewing him and Musk as Nepo-Babies who have never been told no frames them much more accurately than any presidential or intellectual view ever will.

Well done the French for having the foresight to ban criminals from running for public office. Not sure why Le Pen is only banned temporarily, surely it should be a lifetime ban.

I think 1x logged out page visit is fairly unlikely to make a dent in Meta either way!

Threads is basically just Twitter for idiots anyway. It's not really going to take over anything any time soon. X, of course, is Twitter for Nazis. And Bluesky is Twitter but it's 2014.

IMO social media is now irrevocably atomised and we are unlikely to return to the kind of system we had ten years ago where Twitter was totally dominant in its space. Certainly Threads won't manage it.

The Wisconsin Senate elections took place yesterday just nine weeks into Trumps Presidency, in a state which had been won by the Republicans by 20+points last November following heavy voter pushing by Elon Musk who had been handing out $1m cheques. Musk had once again handed out two cheques in the past few days and spent $12m pushing voters to turn out - and they did.

In the very first litmus test for Trumps presidency, the state easily flipped to the Democrats. The result could have an impact on the make up of the House making it harder for Trump to supress Democratic votes.
