Tell me, when was the last time you had a proper good work-out at the gym, if at all!? We are both being a bit naughty lately anyway...

Oh don't go there. Its about a month. Shocking. I've really got to sort myself out before I turn into a fat tub or lard.

I was charging around a bit today doing some stuff and found myself short of breath, Was quite shocked.

In my defence I've had a &^*$ing **** month. Really. Gone from bad to worse. Still - in the past I would have run it off but htis month I've drunk it off. Oops.

Anyway. The evenings sampling are all things I've reported on before:

London Pride (got a bit carried away with these!)
      Marston Single Malt
Burton Bridge Porter (god this is so so so good - I remember now how I got such a sore head in Burton)
Burton Bridge Bramble Stout (also so very very very good)
      Charles Wells Bombardier Satanic Mills

I've already got the farts of evil so pity my colleagues tomorrow. Nah. Screw em.

Only just found this thread but in my limited years of drinking real drinks ive grown quite a taste for proper beers.

My favorite right now is Wychcraft which i got in my Wychwood selection box, really enjoying it and Fiddlers Elbow but im not to keen on Hobgoblin. Id say my favorite overall if i had to choose is still proabably Old Speckled Hen tho.

Ish you may have had it already but check out Wychwood Green Goblin cider its great stuff as im also a cider drinker.

One thing id like to ask is peoples opinion on these ales which mention they are made with honey, stuff like Old Ember and Waggledance. A couple of my friends are mad for Waggledance but i cant stand the stuff.

Howdy do Ajay, we may have met in The Darkness of the trading forum recently

Cool you're enjoying the Wychwoods. Try to grab Circle Master, it's citrus-ational. And at Chrimby Time keep and eye out for Bah Humbug, the taste of that knocks your bollocks off. Cinnamon and raisins. Stick with the Hobgoblin - it's a tough old boy but very rewarding once your palette adjusts. Don't have it as a session starter or one off, it's a mid-sessioner when you've settled into the camra rhythm.

As for all you cider boys....
          BURN THEM!!
Actually, I don't like ciders much, but mainly because I've only been subjected to the mainstream trash. It's like saying I don't like beers when I've only tried John Smith's et al.
I reckon a few choice ciders may lead to a shift of opinion. I saw that Green Goblin one in Morrisions and did a proper double-take. "A Wychwood? That's a cider?" A Peter Kay/Garlic Bread moment, but obviously much, much funnier.

Honey beers are an acquired taste, but also dependent on so many other factors - level of sweetness, intensity of hops, frame of mind. Plough Boy usually hates them, but he's had some honey beers recently that he's really enjoyed.
I pretty much drink anything of a real ale nature - I've only ever found one that I've had to down in one throw whilst holding my nose

Re: Honey Beers. prinny is right - I normally hate them which I unsurprisingly put down to my dislike of normal honey, but recently I've had a couple which were very palatable. Keeping on a Wychwood theme BeeWyched is one example of a tasty honey ale. He's also right on the Hobgoblin front Ajay, stick with it - its a great session ale.

Today I've had two dark beers namely Daleside Duff and Tom Wood's Jolly Ploughman (how appropriate!). Both were very malty and the Ploughmans had a subtle toffee taste. Thumbs up for both!

              Proper wussed out last night.

Had a school trip with 60 horrible kids and ended up with a pounding headache at 2pm.

A 8pm power nap sorted it out, but only after wasting drinkin time.

Limited to - Banana Bread Beer, Ruddles Rhubarb and Badger Golden Glory.

Vanpeebles clearly didn't wuss out last night. He joined us for some LVU Campus whoring late on and (as he kept telling us constantly) he was a bit (ie completely) battered.

Oof that'll be the extra bottle he had while I was napping.

Banana Bread has to be one of the nicest beers in the world. There really is nothing like it anywhere. Even if you hate it you have to respect its individuality.

                          Does. Not. Compute.

I'm off for a nice drinking session this evening as I was work (very) late on Friday with the children?s work and markings and went to see Harry Potter last night but I wasn't with the sort of company that wanted to drink several ales or twelve so, it is gonna happen tonight.

I know its shocking isn't it. But I've been rough as a dog for the last week. I seem to have mislaid my will to live.
