Five inches of the stuff at home now, fingers crossed for not too much overnight.

Foot of stuff in Burgess Hill. Apparently we were one of the worst (or best) places for it.

More light snow predicted and it hasn't melted at all so far. I'm supposed to have a driving lesson tommorrow but haven't heard from the guy...

Decent snow here, but the roads were pretty much clean by mid morning. Least it isn't affecting travel too much, even though I'm off today. Into town later for Madness and the trains are running weird, so I might have to hop to Morden for the Northern line instead...

It's pretty nasty out there at the mo, just had a look out the street door & the wind is blowing towards the flat so I've now got a hallway full of the stuff

Trains were rammed this morning. About 20mins late into work, but otherwise can't complain.

Not a jot of snow here. Although the newspaper's telling me it's EVERYWHERE and that the country is AT A GRIDLOCK. So I guess I'm wrong.

Only about 2 to 3 inches of snow in NW London yesterday but what was bad was the pavements. Local council had only done the main roads and the pavement outside the Civic Centre of course. Everywhere else was like a skating rink; snow with ice underneath and during the day it was so cold the compacted snow turned to ice as the top melted in the sun.

Worst was the apparently clear areas where the sun had melted the snow completely but literally an hour later the water was re-frozen as black ice. I nearly went AoT a dozen times walking back home with my heavy supermarket shop.

Last time it was icy like this here was Dec/Jan 2000/1.

Nothing in my part South Wales, and we normally get it when no one else do. There is some 10 miles away though.

Council here were appauling. Only the main roads have been gritted. The town center roads and car parks are pretty much ice rinks. Makes you wonder what you pay council tax for sometimes...

Here in northern Italy started to snow yesterday at noon and continued until late night.
It was a good chance to test the new snow tires, but I don't understand people without proper equipment going around in their cars or why everyone seem to forget that there are rules to follow on the road.
Now main roads are clean and due to the Christmas frenzy pretty much every road can be used with a bit of prudence.
Forecasts warn about heavy snowfalls on Monday night/Tuesday morning though, maybe I'll start holidays early

Proper winter wonderland here at the mo, with massive snowflakes gently dropping, some over an inch in side. Stunning.

Winter nightmare here. Just had to run down the lane in between snow drifts, to get to the wife and kids, stuck in the car on the hill. Bit of work with the spade, some adjustments to ESP and plenty of swearing later I managed to get to the house. Then I had to dig a path to the drive and managed to get up to the car port on my second try. Phew!

My first year with winter tyres "Without studs".

Wood fire's on now, and time for a medicinal brandy.

Camera phone pic of Isabella (2) surveying the park earlier, before scaring her dad with Sledge tricks.
