You'll be fine with the 3DS. Local games will work on it and you will still have access to the UK eshop content, which is far superior to the Aussie one (we miss out on lots of downloadable stuff due to the massive rating fees over here).

And anyway, three months? That would be hell if you were leaving on bad terms, like, if your boss tried bumming you or something.

In which case you just say the reference is pending.
They want to take you to court? What are they going to do? Involve Interpol to drag you back to the UK for a hearing? Maybe they could hire Batman to extradite you like he did with that Hong Kong guy in TDK.
Nah, in all seriousness I've worked my notices, only because I'm nice like that though. I actually don't have any references because when I have asked for them my previous employers haven't been arsed to supply one, despite leaving on very good terms. I just provide their phone numbers and call them with a heads up if anyone wants to attempt contact.

My friend is about to emigrate to OZ before June with his wife and 3 kids. I can get the info from him on how he went about it.
It did take a while for them to be accepted and get the visa's due to the global recession the goal post were moved for points system.
Its all to do with your job,if you are in demand then you should not have any problems.

Well I've been in Perth about 7 months now and it's going well. Weather is great, everything is more expensive (except Petrol) and the wife loves her new no work lifestlye.
Some quick info below:
It took me about 3 months to find a job but then I got offered 3 within the same week.
I've doubled my salary from what I was getting paid in the UK
We are moving from our rental into a house we have bought in about 3 weeks time
My 6yr old son had major problems settling into school and making friends
Games over here are expensive. New titles range from $79 to $99
My Wii U Pre-Order is $428 for the premium edition
The wife is not happy about the above Pre-Order
We live about 10mins walk from the beach

Glad to hear it's going well. Hard to believe that petrol is actually cheaper here! It must be nuts in the UK.
Don't say I didn't warn you about the prices of games! I have the same pre-order too... I paid off about $400 of it hoping that there will be specials around launch that I can price match to bring it down a bit.
