I have an iTouch question (but figured this thread would do) and hope one of you guys can help...

Been playing around with the ColorSplash app on some of my photos and its pretty awesome seeing as I'm not able to achieve the same results on my PC, plus its fun as hell on a train journey. My question is how do I get the tweaked photos back onto my PC so I can email them to friends?

Hmmm I downloaded an App earlier (Backwords) and whilst it seemed to run ok it wouldn't actually play back the phrase once recorded (assuming it did record it!). Figured it was maybe bust so deleted it off my iPhone. Went to use my phone later on only to fine that a load of Apps (free and paid for) are now off my phone and whilst they are indeed still on my iTunes when re synching it's not putting them back on my phone. Anyone got any ideas please as to how to get them back on my phone ?

Turns out this was the answer (may prove useful to someone at some point).

"With the iPhone plugged into iTunes select it and go to the apps tab. All the apps in iTunes will be listed, some of which will be ticked. Deleting the app from the phone does not delete it from iTunes, it just unticks it in the list of apps to sync. To get them back on the phone simply tick them in the list again"

Still not too sure why it got rid of / de selected for syncing 16 other Apps at the same time!!

For anyone on the original 2g model, i would recomend not updating the firmware to 3.01, as it has killed my battery completely since doing it. Im now only getting 10 hours of not really doing anything at all, were as normally ill get 2-3 days of light usage.

Getting really pissed off with poxy updates on devices nowadays that just seem to cause as many problems as they solve.

Not noticed anything odd with 3.01 myself? the 3.01 update was just to stop malformed SMS messages trashing your phone.

Thought id post it anyway as soon as i did it it affected the battery life, nevery had any problems with it before.

As with all these updates some people will be affected and some wont, i was unlucky this time i think. Tried a full restore as well and that didn't cure it. New update please, sigh.

You can go back to 3.0 if you want. It's not an easy process though.

I originally installed a few betas of 3.1 which was shockingly bad so I went back to 3.0.

Newbie question here - I assume the answer is no but if I bought an iPhone from the Apple store (the one with the O2 pay&go sim) would I be able to use my current O2 contract sim with it instead? Or am I restricted to the Pay&Go sim?

You can, as far as I'm aware, but you lose Visual Voicemail.

Does anyone know of any way to get your contacts off the iphone and onto the sim card (without cydia), ive looked every where on the net and cant find anything, ive also tried to unlock the iphone again by using pwnage tool and redsnow and neither will work with 3.0.1, cant figure that out either

Redsn0w works just fine, as long as you point it at a copy of 3.0 while jailbreaking instead of 3.0.1. You'll still end up with 3.0.1 on there in the end.

Not convinced you can get your contacts onto the sim based on stock functionality, but why would you want to? You lose loads of detail copying to sims anyway...

I did redsnow correctly each time i tried it, about 10 times in the end, and it would always crash at a certain point.

Managed, somehow, ive no idea how, to get pwnage tool 3.0 to work in a last ditch attempt, all unlocked again and no need to change my mobile, hence wanting to get my contacts off.

Managed to roll it back to 3.0 again so hopefully that will cure the battery draining problem that 3.0.1 caused.





EDIT. rolling back to 3.0 did not resolve the battery issue, guess ill just have to live with it now, or figure what else is causing it, balls
