then in itunes, hold Shift and click Check for update, then choose the file you've downloaded

Something else I wanted to ask. When you get a message, email, facebook, etc and you are not using the phone, aren't they supposed to appear on the lock screen in a list like LockInfo did for jailbreakers? It doesn't appear to work for me. The email won't appear at all on lock screen and a facebook message would appear in the normal pop up and then sliding the icon at the bottom views it instead or just unlocking the phone to the home screen. I was imagining it should appear in a list format like the pull down notification centre does and then you're supposed to be able to swipe right on it to view the message?

Yeah it does do that, although it's disabled for emails by default I think.

Goto the notifications setting for mail and you'll see the option to choose the notification style and for it to appear on the lock screen.

I'm pretty sure it can display a fair few at once.

edit. yeah it can, upto 5 on the lock screen

Mine isn't doing that. I have everything set to appear on the lock screen so I assumed they would show like the above image but they just pop up a window for each new one.

It's taking an absolute age to restore the apps to my iPad. Not even sure it's working. Wish they had a status bar or something to at least keep me informed.

Don't think I'll bother trying to update my iPod Touch tonight.

If you're in iTunes, you can press the little play button at the left side of the yellowish box at the top. It cycles through various screens and one of them is a status bar for syncs, backups, etc.

Hmmm... it's not giving me that at the moment. The 'restoring apps' box is a separate one over iTunes right now.

That bit yeh? Never have any other windows open when doing things with iPhones and iTunes.

Yeah, it's not using that bar for some reason. It's just slapped a new one up over my music listing that says iPad and says it's restoring apps.

Hmmm maybe it's different for iPads then, I don't have one so not sure.

Still really confused by this lack of notifications on the lock screen. All I should be doing is checking the View in Lock Screen option in Notifications for Mail for instance? Nowhere else I need to change anything?

Yup Boris, that's the one I've been in and out of all day. Got the exact same settings as you do there. The banner appears when I get a new mail if the screen is on. But never shows on the lock screen.

I've got a feeling that it maybe doesn't check the emails as frequently when it's on lock.
Does it work for anything else, or is it just emails?
