A gaming site created by monkeys, for monkeys IMO.
To be fair, they're mostly accurate and not as one-sided as you might think.

While it's true that most face offs will favor the Xbox version above the PS3, they provide hard proof to support their claims in the forms of hi res screenshots and game footage. I'm no 'fanboy' owning both consoles, but if you want your games to look their best, then I find the face-offs to be quite helpful.

Me too. I have both consoles and when a title is multiformat I like to know which is the definitive version. The same as I did with the previous gen; Xbox vs. PS2 vs. GC.

Why is Barla Von getting upset over console comparisions, surely he knows the only way to play a game is on an Uber Expensive PC Rig ;-)

'Familes' that take over public transport.

You know the ones I mean. Those smelly, scutty types in their late 20's that get on the bus with their similarly smelly siblings and horde of thirty five also smelly and trampy kids.

I'd like to travel to my destination in relative peace and quiet, without having some stinky kids looking over my shoulder and most importantly, not standing up because this 'family' has occupied every seat on the bus.

Makes me want to nuke them all.

Are you saying you prefer the old singing based Halifax adverts more?

Terrible adverts, always have been, for a terrible bank.

I do find these adverts even worse. The old ones were quite basic, get some gimp from a branch to sing about their accounts.
These ones take it to a whole new level of patronising, ad-man wankery. It says everything you need to know about the bank when you see what sort of Dave Lee Travis nightmare their radio station would be. And the idea that I would high five some random freak just because my bank gave me a whole 5 pounds a month.
Just thinking about it makes me tense up with rage.

I'm with the Halifax, who I haven't had any problems with, but the horror that is their latest advertising campaign has seriously made me consider switching banks! It really is that horrible.

                  Corrected

On topic I fully agree with the above hate. It's cringeworthy, not to mention awful.

I hate the Halifax print adverts that have customers perched on bridges made of Halifax employees so another bluesuit can hand them FREE MONEY!!! Says a lot about Halifax's attitude towards its staff.

Speaking of banks, here' an irk from a recent happeningm

Why does my bank need to call me up at random to ask me a bunch of sales/service related questions?

If I have an issue, I will call you. Until then, leave me alone.

What's most bothersome is that you're then expected to validate your I'd before they start questioning you. A lot of hassle for something you never asked for in the first place.

Umm...not being funny mate, but if someone rings you, you should NEVER "validate".

If they deem it really important then take their number and ring them back.

The above goes for most phone calls from companies, but ESPECIALLY with banks...

First time I had a call like that I declined to answer any questions as they'd phoned me. They accepted that and noted my records accordingly. Never had another call.

Oooooh yeah, I've had the Halifax (or someone on behalf of them, so not at all another secret department of said bank then) cold call me with 'great offers' on health insurance. This was around the time I was expecting a phone call back with resolution of my dispute, I was so ****ing fuming. By the 5th call in a fortnight I made quite certain there wasn't going to be a 6th.

                              @Jebus:

I said they asked for my details, not that I gave them. In fact I asked them why I have to validate myself when I never asked them to call me and they just sputtered "Uh... Ok shall we just leave it then?"

                              And that was that.

I wouldn't just give personal info to someone who just randomly called me up.

Something similar happened to me today. I had a cold call from somebody addressing me by name and saying they were from "the health centre". I asked them which one they meant and they told me it was in Kent before moving on to asking me about my recent health. I told them I didn't go to a health centre in Kent and hung up while the woman on the other end of the line tried to explain.

Another annoyance: I can't pay money into my bank without being offered a credit card or having to decline an appointment for an account review. Yesterday I was told that having a credit card would improve my credit rating but I'd rather have a non-existent credit rating than owe my bank money and interest. I was also told that having one would make online shopping safer but if that's the case then their card validation service is rather pointless.
