The large television shaped space on my wall combined with the slightly larger television shaped bump in the bed make it unlikely to happen. If those two clues aren't enough for me then I think I deserve to have to pay to replace it.

The way that Windows Media Player 11 tries to auto-sync and take control of every external device you plug into your computer even if it contains no media.

I could be happily listening to an album, plug in a USB stick and then it stops because Media Player buts in and tries to take over. And from what I can see, there's no way to disable it either. It usually means I have to close Media Player if I want to plug in an external device or SD card to stop it interfering.

Increasingly large numbers of people making statements with a question mark?

This is on the increase, locking you into an order early.

Payment taken - 8th May, yep.
              Item ready for dispatch - 10th May.......er?
Will I see later today, item dispatched? Most likely no.

What the F happened to 'We will charge you pre-order when it's ready to dispatch' AND the company actually dispatching the same day or maybe the day after?

Almost 6pm still 'Preparing For Despatch' GRRRRRR

                The missus not understanding directions.

I've lived here for 4 months yet I still know the area better than she does, despite her having lived here for 11 years.

The fact that somebody can be arrested, convicted and fined for posting an inflammatory Twitter message is highly disturbing. It'd be understandable if the man in question was found to have been genuinely plotting to blow up an airport or had links with terrorists but he's lost his job, been forced to pay £1000 and has a criminal record because of something he posted on the Internet.

That does seem ridiculous. If a comedian said such a thing in front of an audience, no-one would give a stuff.

Surely the intention of the law is to stop people sending threatening emails and persecuting someone. I can't believe anyone would have believed he legitimately meant to blow up the airport.

What if he had sent an anonymous letter by post to the airport saying exactly the same thing, would that be any different?

Good luck arresting somebody over an anonymous threat.

In seriousness, sending a letter would be different as that could considered to be a direct threat. It's glaringly obvious that he was just blowing off steam on the Internet. Even if it was investigated by the police, it shouldn't have gone further than a caution at best.

Agree with you, a caution would have been the best outcome, just playing a little Devil's advocate.

I'm sure we can agree that it was a foolish tweet to make and a reminder to us all that the internet is not some totally free form sounding board where anything can be said without consequence and on it the laws of the land do still apply.

But I think it's an abuse of the law. I can't believe the intention was to cover this sort of thing. Half the posts on this forum and most others would be breaking the law.

Caution = admission of guilt and a criminal record

Lots of people don't realise this.

What irks me more than anything is that I'm constantly thinking of things that irk me while going about my day to day life, and when I read this thread I can never remember any of them.
