Wasting the morning. It's been suitably chilly here over the last few days and anyone could have seen at tea time last night that the conditions would be unplayable for Sunday League football this morning with subzero temperatures forecast overnight. Of course rather than cancel today's fixtures the league did nothing which meant I had to drag my lazy ass out of bed to drive across town for 10am. Pitch was rock solid, like walking on concrete. Ref shows up about 20 minutes late, walks 10 yards onto the pitch and declares that the surface is playable. Mental. So we all get changed, start to put the nets up and then the ref changes his mind and calls it off for safety reasons. How utterly ridiculous yet totally predictable. Plus as the home team we had to pay the ref half of his fees & travel expenses just for turning up.Comment

dunno if anyone has come across the irk driving speed...happens to me all the time the speed where the car in front is just slow enough to hold you up but just fast enough to make overtaking hard and i need a good long stretch of clear roadComment

My gf's sister's bf is irking the hell out of me right now.
1. Went round to see her sis & their baby just b4 xmas. Everything was fine until he turned up after work, then the atmos dropped.
He's Czech, she's Polish, as is my gf obviously. They were talking away (both dialects languages are very similar),then he turned to me & in a sarky tone said that I must think they're so rude for not speaking in english while I'm around & that he MUST speak english. I had to put him in his place over that remark as I never have or would be sitting there thinking "oh these bloody foreigners dont even have the decency to speak the queens english!".
Then he started telling us we must have a sprog, which I HATE hearing from ppl. "Yeah you look so happy together since having your baby. I can tell by the way your gf gives u the daggers all the time
". Ppl should just f*ck off & mind their own business.
2. Then her sis & family came over the 1st wk of January. He didnt turn up straightaway, so I got a brew on for everyone & a slice of cake. He turned up (much) later, we all had a natter etc etc, then I saw him chomping on a piece of cake thinking he'd nabbed his gf's. When they left I went to the kitchen & noticed a tiny sliver of cake left on the tray. The greedy c*nt had taken nearly all of what was left without even asking for a piece ffs!
3. He came round last wk & asked to borrow some games from me. I told him no I dont lend my games out to people & I havent finished playing all 30 of them yet

Got them coming round again this wk. Its gonna be fun I can tell!!

Having two deadlines and a test in two weeks, then finding out that I have to whip up a ten minute presentation for next Thursday on why I want to join a company I've applied for a placement with, what interests me about the job and... myself. Have to wear business clothes too, which makes most people who know me laugh at the thought. Absolutely bricking it.Comment
