If it's online gambling, then get set your router up with opendns and set the gambling options. If you really have no control yet, then get someone else to do it without telling you the passwords to the router and your opendns account....

I'm A Gambling, Drinking Drug Addict..

I've made another step. I didn't gamble Sunday for the first time in (God knows how long) I bought only 4 ales and enjoyed them and I am aiming to zero drugs.
I am a member at many online gambling establishments, ladbrokes is a main one, but I also play live roulette and baccarat at dublinbet.
Just recently I thought of a system and getting a bot, and tbh..I felt like a bit of a loser..This really isn't the road I want to take.
The plan is to finish off this year without gambling and drinking more sensibly and letting myself go, just a parties and usual stuff - which i find acceptable.
I'm going to go to gamblers anonymous online, Thank you for the link.
Thank you all for sound advice, I was dead low when I posted the original post, I feel a thousand times better just doing something about it.
Thank you guys

I'm not too far away from you, chief.
If you fancied a trip to the cinema or something that's going to avoid temptations, send me a PM.
I can meet you half-way in Brum or I can come to Cov if that's the preferable option.
I'm not suggesting I be a "sponsor" or anything dramatic, just thought I'd offer.
Find me on Live/PS3 with the same tag if you'd like to chat.
No pressure!

Thats damn kind, Thank youI'm currently in Wales with the ladyfriend.
However..when I get back..I have a 50" plasma HD...we can hook up round mine if you like and play some mulitplayer...
Before I left I was playing less serious games like Mario Strikers on Wii....We can do stuff like that...have a sensible drink or even tea and/or coffee...
Thank you Chimpy - alot.

Online gambling - as Charles has posted, is a relatively easy way to stop yourself doing it - block those sites via your router.
Cancel ALL those accounts. Not tomorrow, do it right now. Write a list of them here to remind yourself how many you WERE (;-)) using.
Best of luck (I know, bad choice of words, but at least with this one you have got a chance of winning!)
No such thing as a 'system'. You can't win, you know that.

I am registered at around 10-15 online casinos...
However..its not all bad as I only frequent 4...
When I get reminder e-mails from the ones I don't use..I will then use that e-mail as a way of cancelling or stopping the e-mails.
I'm going to cancel the ones I know, Now...
EDIT
ladbrokes
bet365

Dublinbet

You know what those other ones are, by not cancelling now you are doing the equivilent of hiding a bottle of scotch in the cupboard just in case you need a drink. Feel the pain, dig out the old emails etc and take control of the list, don't drop off now you're on a roll.
I used to bet on betf*ir, steadily the stakes got higher. In one afternoon I got stuck into the FTSE 100, I lost over a grand in 2 minutes before winning it back in the next hour, sweating my ass off. I closed my betfair account that day, never used it since and never bet again on FTSE or sports.

Since my girlfriends father died in december she's been drinking a fair bit, usually a bottle of wine a night, but last night one and a half bottles, who needs to get that sloshed on a sunday before work the next day? Its causing a fair few arguments but she won't listen to me and doesn't really care what I say about it. Then expects it to all be ok the next night. I'm getting annoyed with that f*cking wine isle in sainsburys I can tell you that though. I seem to spend half my life there right now. I wouldn't say she's that far gone yet as she can go nights without, but she certainly likes her wine.
My only way of getting out is to move out as she's not listening to me or not stopping. Sorry, I don't want an alcoholic for a girlfriend. She might not see it like that as 'its only a bottle of wine a night' but they always say if its affecting your relationship with others or causing arguments then you might have a problem.

They would count it as binge I think .
As for the gambling, sometimes cutting a habit out completely cold turkey is really tough. If you're unable to completely cut it out, don't take a card with you if you go to a casino/amusements place and only take as much money as you can afford to lose (that would stop you chasing jackpots, it's a scary habit I've noticed in people... I've lost ?20... I get another ?20 to win it back!)
The key to it is as said, moderation, know when to cut your losses and accept that it's not your day.
Speaking from experience I'd say never mix gambling and drinking (don't know about drugs but I'd assume it's similar) I scared the **** outta myself once when I lost ?200 playing roulette on my phone and ended up throwing down a ?100+ bet just to try and recoup it. Might not sound much, but I couldn't afford to lose ?200, let alone ?300. Thankfully I won on that ?100 bet and so was able to stop evens, but theres no way I'd even contemplate such bets sober. Putting fruit machines in pubs is absolutely lethal.

I'll say pretty much the same as Chimp said, me being in Coventry myself, when you get back to Coventry, if you need anything, or just wanna hang out or something, send me a message or something (I think I'm still on your friends list on XBL and PSN).
I think the best way to stop these addictions is to distract yourself with other things. I wish the best of luck to you dude.
