    Video games "worse than porn"?

Apparently so, according to Ron Jeremy of all people. Here is the story:

BBC, News, BBC News, news online, world, uk, international, foreign, british, online, service

    From the man himself:

So the same can't be done for games, eh Ron? Parents can block porn, but they can't not buy 18 rated games for their children?

I can't see what Jeremy would have to gain from lashing out at gaming, but it's more than a bit rich considering the legacy of his medium. Now I don't really want to get into which is worse between "violent" games and porn, but it really is a case of the kettle calling the pot black if ever there was one.

    So, what do you think?

I think he has a point though. Play Killzone 2 or Modern Warfare 2 online and you constantly see usernames like "Joe1999" or "BlueBoy1998" (Okay, maybe not everyone uses the year they were born but from hearing some of these guys on mic they do sound about 12/13).

At least porn is a secret shame. These kids play GTA and other things of questionable morality with the full knowledge and consent of their parents. Plus there's sex/nudity in games anyway. Maybe it's not hardcore sex, but it's still there to titillate and IMO we get nearer to the hardcore every decade.

^Well, Jeremy's not really 'the voice of authority' on such matters. I think I read in an online interview a few weeks back that he doesn't even own a PC, and he constantly pitches in about his teaching qualification during said interview, trying to prove that he's more than just a grotesque, hairy bulb with a freakishly oversized appendage attached to his groin. I don't think - intellectually - the man is particularly respected (I mean, this is a bloke who made a porno where he rogered a rubber sex doll, ffs - how dignified/respectable is that?)

I DO quite like Jeremy's bumbling, cheery persona, but maybe he's not really an ideal spokesman against the issue of 'Violence In Video Games'. A cheerful, prolific tripod, maybe. But a moral crusader?

If anything - and I hate saying this for fear I come across as some prude - I think that the over-proliferation of easy-to-get pornography (something that Jeremy was instrumental in by his popularity as a porn icon) has merely served to make 'normal' sex unsexy, and has encouraged many to seek out more extreme, more degrading forms of porno. Far from creating 'liberation', it has instead created a warped, oppressive, unloving, unsexy attitude to sex that I (personally) despise. I think that this will prove to be maybe more damaging in the long run than 'violent video games' as ever more boundaries are broken to prevent apathy in a society desperate for ever-escalating "thrills".

Funny you should say that as a couple of years back I saw a sex scene on TV, can't remember what show but it was one of the hottest things I ever saw. Only thing revealed was a bit of breast and a lot of skin but no genitals on display.
Goes to show porn isn't generally sexy. Certainly not ol' Ron!

It's a bit rich coming from a man who looks like a real life version of Mario.

Or perhaps parents could actually look at errr..... their quality of parenting. People just like having something to blame when something doesn't turn out right.

If "for wanking to" was added to the title of the thread, I'd agree.

Then again, that Princess Peach.... phwoooaaarrrr!

Yeah I do think that kids who play adult games COULD be affected later in life & shouldnt be playing them, however its a bit hypocritical of Ron Jeremy to try & be some kind of spokesman on the subject considering his background.
I think he's just trying to get his name out there again so he can get some work.

.............his cock aint that big since he turned into a fat f**ker, err, apparently!

Apparently, it's too large to 'fully inflate', biological reasons n' that, blood flow, and he takes Cialis, too, the faker.

I'm obviously some kind of vanilla/quare/n00b but what does this mean. I'd google it, but I'm at work and it sounds like I shouldn't.

If my spam is anything to go by, Cialis is some sort of Viagra-type stuff.
