I'll never turn to the dark side neil NEVER!!
Its looks alright yeah....lol. I think they are starting to finally get the proportions right. I do think the shoulder cannon looks a bit small though. Still have those stupid stands though, i honestly thought they were getting somewhere with the diorama stands on Superman and the Classic Pred but they seem to have gone back to black crotch attack ones.
Also this is the new Pred body that they will probably use for all future Preds now, they used it first on the Shadow Predator and since they announced they are redoing pretty much everything in the predator line i'm sure they will get some mileage out of this body....not they ever do that of course coughironmancough.
Speaking of Iron Man lol did you see they are releasing the Mark VI again! This time with an Avengers base lol and claiming it to be the first Avengers piece haha! People will buy it though that's the thing! WAIT FOR THE MARK VII YOU FOOLS!!
As for Predator stuff!
The Sideshow P1 statue is out in the next couple of months : http://www.sideshowtoy.com/?page_id=...1#!prettyPhoto
and the Elder was up for sale a couple of weeks back: http://www.sideshowtoy.com/?page_id=4489&sku=2002141
And a guy who did the proto paint of the Elder said there is also another sculpt already finished and painted, which will probably and hopefully be the P2!

HG / HGUC (High Grade / High Grade Universal Century) or "basic" MG (Master Grade) kits are what you are looking for: if you know how to follow Lego instructions, you'll be able to build a Bandai kit.
Baseline MG kits cost around 2000-2500yen alone, so they might be outside your 30? range, but if you can snatch one, you won't be disappointed; maybe old Zeon kits will disappoint a bit due to their limited mobility, so 2.0 version of these kits (Zaku II, Gouf, Gelgoog are reccomended).
HG and HGUC are smaller than MG kits and considerably cheaper and later kits are very well detailed; the line also features a much larger variety of Mobile Suits to chose from. Larger HG kits can cost almost as much as a Master Grade (hello Kshtryia) but if you go for a standard suit you won't break your bank.
If you want guns you should go for MS from 08th MS Team; I know that the EZ-8, the RGM-79[G] and the RX-79[G] come with tons of guns in their Master Grade form and are among the less expensive MG kits. The B-3 Gouf Custom is also an excellent kit, it might not have many weapons but they are huge and cool looking (plus it's the best MS in the whole 08th MS Teams series).
If you want a single big gun you can go for GP-02A; an other kit with large numbers of weapons should be the Stark Jegan, various ReZEL types, Geara Doga and Geara Zulu.
An other option is the Real Grade scale, but they are complex kits; nothing impossible to build if you follow the instructions, but they take a lot of time to build; however, they have become my favourite model line; sadly there aren't many Mobile Suits available in RG but if you like classic MS, it's worth taking a look; they might be over the ?30 mark though.

Mr B., Neo, Briareos - thanks for all your advice.
I'm hoping to buy a model over this weekend. There is so much choice it's quite difficult to know which go for! I'll let you know what I've gone for once I finally decide.
Some of the Zoid models look fairly nice too, so I'll do some investigating on those.

Yeah QC, that Seravee is a bit bonkers with those knee guns.
Don't think you can beat the O.T.T. 'ness of the guns on Zoids tho', they're plain crazy on some models.
It's a shame Darwock does'nt post on these boards anymore. Some of his Zoid models were great. I was looking at the website he recommended quite a while ago, Zoids Poison, and see he posts there and still building up his collection.

My Berserker Predator came in today from the US completing the Predators trilogy of...erm...PredatorsVery happy with this guy, fantastic pose and i love the glossy water effect on the base, i wish the bone on the jaw mask could be a bit darker but it's a minor thing. Also all 3 look great together!
