Don't get me started on the GSI.

As an end user of the stupid password protection measures that thing has created, I can assure you we share your pain

I do hope that ****er who was arrested goes down. If he's part of the group that attacked Sony, he's not laughing now. What goes around, comes around biatch.

LS are denying any involvement so it's probably just a prank posting.

**** are just one small tiny group in a massive sea of hacking activities - most of the "underground movement" don't regard them as part of the scene due to not much proper hacking taking place.

If you want to see just how much of this stuff is going on, you should go take a look at The Hacker News.

Euch, that's such a trashy hit piece from The Sun (as to be expected).

I didn't even know you could huff butane, seems incredibly stupid to me...

                  Met Police say:
Ryan Cleary was arrested for the hack on the Serious Crime website
He was not arrested for the suspected Census hack

                  LSec say:
Yay, we hacked the serious crime website
Ryan Clearly hosts our IRC channel and nothing more

So which is it, is he part of your group or not?

Apparently a statement has gone out saying the census hasn't been hacked and the data is safe. ****sec (or rather, Antisec, who are the combined forces of ****sec and Anonymous) have said their first payload from their "bring down the government" mantra that started over the weekend, is going online tomorrow.

Another hacking group, TeamPoisen, have come onto the scene with a mission to bring down AntiSec. Their reasoning is that ****sec are just "script kiddies" and not true underground hackers. That adds up to the fact that the majority of their hacks have been, at best, through well known security loopholes in unpatched servers but mostly DDOS attacks which are fairly easy to do. It is thought, incidently, that Ryan Clearly wrote the botnet used to carry out the DOS attacks. TeamPoisen have apparently hacked ****sec and are going to release names, addresses and phonenumbers of all its members soon!

Welcome aboard the **** Boat indeed.

It seems very likely that Clearly has enough of an involvement with the group to make charges stick, even if he wasn't the one who personally did the hacking. He's like the gang member who stood next to the guy who shot someone.

I've said before that I think most of the hacks they've done are generic attacks using semi-automated toolkits to find standard errors and recent exploits.

Do these people really think they can go on doing this for long?

It's going to turn out they are all under 16 and the law can't do anything...or something

Marvellous eyebrows on this Ryan Cleary character. He actually gets called a keyboard warrior in that Sun article too. What an effin nerd.

Anyone heard about Bioware being hacked? I got the following email today.

We recently learned that hackers gained unauthorized access to the decade-old BioWare server system supporting the Neverwinter Nights forums. We immediately took appropriate steps to protect our consumers' data and launched a thorough ongoing evaluation of the breach. We have determined that no credit card data was compromised from the servers, nor did we ever have or store sensitive data like social security numbers. Our investigation shows that information such as user names, encrypted passwords, email addresses, mailing addresses, names, phone numbers, CD keys and birth dates from these forum accounts on the system may have been compromised, as well as other information (if any) that you may have associated with your EA Account. In an abundance of caution, we have changed your password to ensure account security. Please visit this *LINK REMOVED* to reset your password immediately.

Does that look fake to anyone else? email password change links like that reek of phishing to me. Also, the email came from bioware@em.ea.com, and I went to the bioware social site, (which I set to stay logged in) and was signed in normally, nothing about a wrong password or anything like that.

The Bioware hack is, sadly, true.
