    Paypal twitter hacked.

Not sure what is going on but looks like paypal has now been hacked.

The company's UK PayPal Twitter feed was breached and the person behind the hacking this evening started posting messages and 'retweeting' other people's messages.

Looks like it is just their twitter feeds. Anyone having problems with their accounts at all?

Surely Paypal's twitter account = twitter?

Indeed. Things are getting hacked at a crazy rate at the moment. I know it is only twitter in this case but when will it stop?

It's unrelated Twitter means Twitter you have to have a Twitter account to follow anything, there completely separate. Twitter seems to have pretty poor security my account was accessed and crap was posted supposedly by me. Simon pegs account who I follow was hacked into with some one offering a screensaver that was related to his film that was just a virus, Twitter like Facebook seems really poor in the security stakes.

There are a number of potential issues; leaving yourself logged in and sodding off for a few mins, using the same weak passwords everywhere and, not using the https option for facebook for the entire session - trouble is sessionids are passed back when you authenticate via a none-SSL connection, which can be sniffed if you're on the same network thus giving you piggy-back access. It doesn't even take any skill to intercept, just the right app and the same proximity.

Don't think the same option is available on twitter at the mo though.

Piggy-backing a twitter session does != hacking PayPal mind.

Edit - no twitter does - go to your settings and tick: HTTPS Only Always use HTTPS Use a secure connection where possible to encrypt your account information

Twitter has an SSL you have to turn it on though, same as Facebook. Been making sure I use this when I can with all the recent nonsense.
